So the wife and I are on the last leg of a 10 hour cruise through the local mountians. We pull down a highway that looked pretty good on the map as far as twists and turns go. Get about 15 miles into it, and notice more and more and even more bikes around....

Not sure if this is the right category....so sue me...

Soon it was pretty obvious that we had landed in the middle of a weekend hangout....

The place is called Yu-Myong-San. It is about 90 minuts (on a good day) south of Seoul, HWY 37 for those of you who are interested. Hundreds of bikes, of all types, but mostly sporty's. Very curvy and no cops....NONE.

Several hairy hairpins, the most famous being "gallery corner".....so enjoy the pics...

Oh yeah....this was just after coming off HWY 56 that had 119 turns in 60 miles....who knew???

I'm putting myself in your place. You are out wandering the land with no particular goal in mind and stumble onto what can be considered Motorcycle Eden. Sounds like you got to live a state of fantasy bliss only written about by the greatest literary talents and only shown in movies right before the plot thickens. Bet you didn't want to leave.

Ever read "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" by Richard Bach? I imagine your experience parallels the beginning of the story and accounts our ultimate desires on a motorcycle. There is a certain "outlaw" aspect to the main character as he is shunned for his passions and finds a place of belonging... where others like him are at play.

OOOOkaaay. seagulls huh ?

Seoul Rocks ! Nice find, reminds me of how I felt coming up on a free outdoor concert place( every weekend) on my motorcycle in Okinawa 35 years ago. Still a fond memory today.

I ges sum uv us dont reed.

I only put forth that the same emotional longing for a place that fulfills our needs was reflected in the book and that I imagine the same feeling would stir in me if happening onto a rider's Heaven where no cops existed and all in attendance were part of the brotherhood.

It's about deep meaning, you know?

Go on, make fun of me. Me and all the other people in my head think it makes sense.

The funny thing is, it was a bit of moment...especially hitting gallery corner with about 80 guys, most in track suits, cheering and jeering as each bike went through. The corner has a 5 foot cement embankment that people stand behind, and if it looks close, duck behind. I've been back 4 times now, and enjoy hanging out with the cheering secion. For me, it has made all the difference.

looks like fun.

I found a new road today, by chance. "Egg and Butter Road" It was nice.

"Beaver Creek Road" would be PUUURFECT if it were paved

Hey Jager not sure if it's a right or left, but ya'll have some beautiful ridin' down in your part of the world. The ride down to Nashville and back would be just about right this time of the year....!!

You bet; I rode about 250 miles today, in perfect weather. I just wish daylight would last longer; my stupid day job keeps interfering with great riding days!

Have fun in Asia!
