Sweet JEEBUS. What a difference the modes have. Over the first 800 miles of riding the bike I had it in T mode. Switched to S mode today and OH MAN. Went from big GRIN to HUMONGOUS FACE HURTING Grin in .009 seconds.

Yep. There's a distinct difference between the two modes. I was impressed the first time I switched into Sport mode. I'm trying my best to keep it in Touring mode in order to conserve rubber. Sport mode could get 'spensive real fast.

100% agree and one of my other bikes is an FZ1

Yes it does.....and awesome to have a choice! I really like the T mode when riding with my HD buds!!

The S stands for SMILES. :)

I switched to S at around mile 450. Haven't put it back on T yet. Perhaps once I get it back from its first service.

Nice to have the choice and be able to make it on the fly. Touring is great for smooth handing around town in stop and go traffic or out on the country roads. Makes for a nice smooth ride with a passenger. Get into the twisties and its Sport all the way! Great acceleration and deceleration going in and out of the curves. I love this bike!

I run in S mode almost all the time. The only time I use T is when tired and in stop and go traffic where there's a lot of stop and not much go. When I'm tired, the throttle / clutch from stop seems to be easier in T. Other than that, I'm in S mode.

It's hard to see how it would have much impact on tire life unless you just can't resist the temptation ;)

Now that I have a 2014 on order I have a question about the modes. Which one is close to the way my Gen I (2004) runs??
