All right. That's 20 minutes of my life that I'll never get back. AND............after reading this whole freakin' thread, I still don't know if my Gen II is top heavy or not. Will someone clear this up?!??!??.

..............have to go look at pics of the old 86 connie and see if I can remember if it was top heavy or not. I'll let y'all know what I find out........

..............****, my period key seems to be phucking up............................

You do not have periods.. And most ladies I know do not require a key to start one

Yes, but in my experience, you need a key to stop them. <_<

How many bikes can you lean over almost to the ground, then straighten back up, from the riding position? Those you can are not "top-heavy". Go ahead, try it. I'll wait....

I just use the term "Heavy", and mine is, and he's my brother....

OK now.... SIX pages on some guy who shouldn't be riding a bike and proves that dumb ***** shouldn't ride MOTORcycles.

Sorry for being blunt but after riding for 40 freaking years you get tired of seeing and reading such stupidity.

Well, just took a quick spin to try your test, and wouldn't you know it, mine isn't top heavy...it's just well endowed.

Hey guys, 6 pages and no one has yet suggested grinding or filing the notch on the sidestand a bit so it leans more..... oh well...

It's always dogpile Friday around here..... Way more fun anyway... ;)

Yeah, you could do that. It has been discussed here on the forum before, as you know, by some other guy named Fred. And if you do that it will make the bike better for parking on a surface that slants away to the right, like on the side of a crowned road (in any of the right side driving world).

But riddle me this... What then happens should you ever decide to park it on a surface that runs away to the left? All that top-heavy, heavy PITA bitchiness of bike weight will be loading up that sidestand like the mamma yamma engineers never intended.

When the welded steel pivot snaps off and the bike lands on it's side, you'll be sorry!!!

To me, it's a whole lot easier just finding a relatively level (at least side to side) place to park.

Whatever, my dad could...........well, you know. And my tennis shoes are the fastest. so there

Because the bike was put back on the centerstand while still on the same slope!
I probably had my mind on hitting the road instead of where I parked my bike for the fill-up, which left me with too much downward andle when I took it off the centerstand.
Sorry about the trouble.

Re: the above quote...are you taking it off the centerstand while standing along side it?

I may be confident enough to do that some day but not right now in week two of ownership.

It is more top heavy than my Kaw mean streak is. So, when taking it off the cstand I just hump the tank a time or two and roll it off. Also, I'm just so eccstatic over having a 6.6 gal tank instead of a 4.5 that has roughly 3.8 useable volume that I'm fine filling tank on side stand instead of center. Also the fewer times I'm "humping that tank" in public the better.
