We are one of the last to leave Taos, as we only have 140 miles to go to pagosa springs ,co. (a bit hungover!)A very nice ride too! After a night in pagosa springs we head up to Montrose Co. Tuesday we go to the black canyon of the gunnison nat'l park!
A park ranger was at one of the view points with just me & duke and we had a good talk
A 2000 ft drop to these rocks in the river!
The ranger asured me there was no gravel on the road down to the bottom ( a 16% grade for 5 miles)
So we went down to the river & had a snack of beef jerky
After the park we headed to the 92hwy which goes around the canyon, And I have to say this turned out to be the best day of ride'n ever! The weather-perfect, scenery-beautifull, road-awesome curves just made fer the fjr!
There was a view point along hwy 92 that rivaled the nat'l park!
Week 2 pt 2 later!
