Well, less than 1300 miles and I have a nail in my tire. The local dealer has one of these in stock for 139 bucks, and I just want to get a tire on and forget about it. Has anyone here tried one of these on the FJR? I don't really see any reason it wouldn't work ok, but maybe I'm missing something. Thanks for any input>

The FJR (and all sport-tourers) are to heavy for a pure sportbike tire. You may experience more sidewall flex and the tire probably won't last very long. Of course, while it is on the bike it'll stick really well. :yahoo:

Never tried one on my FJR. Did have one on my Honda VF1100. Just say NO! Hard 'n slippery while handling poorly and like an unwelcome guest it wouldn't go away.

Had the Qualifiers on my R6 and they worked great, however like everyone says the FJR is too heavy for them. It will work, but it will wear out quickly. If its a small nail you could probably just have the dealer plug the tire since it is still fairly new. Like most most people on this forum I'd say get a new tire. I'm getting a set of Avon Storms right now cause I've heard nothing but good things about them. Don't get the Metzler Z6 (front anyway) as mine got awful splitting on the sidewalls after just 4000 miles

It will work great, for about 2000 miles.

Guesstimate that you'll get about half the life of what you normally get out of sport touring tires.

Yeah, I guess I'll scrap that idea then....ordered a new tire online. None of these chump dealerships around here have a tire to fit it....including the place I bought it from.
