Hi guys.

Anyone tried these for balancing your wheels. By all accounts some guys swear by them but iv,e also heard they don,t work.

No direct experience with DynaBeads. Do know a couple locals that use them and are happy with the results...makes for a mess changing tires when the beads get on the floor.

I'm not a fan of them. I have seen some of the beads embed in the inside of the tire and others react with the rubber inside the tire and make little black balls rolling around inside.

Being a former road racer, if dyna beads were as good as they claim you would see very bike on the grid using them. Road racers use the tried and true static balance. Works great and is dependable. YMMV

I used the dynabeads in a full dress touring bike, seemed to work ok. Personal preference, I use RideOn tire sealant now. Same balancing benefit(way easier to put in) and I don't worry about getting flats anymore....win/win. YMMV

I work part time for a dealership and our techs curse a blue streak everytime they have to deal with them. Functionally they're okay, they seem to work. As stated above makes a hell of a mess when you change tires! I stick with the regular old school method on my own rides.

Static balancing takes what...10 minutes max?

So what are you saving???

Also, why use sealants when a plug job is a 15 minute process.

I don't want any of that funky **** on my FJR!!

If I change a tire in my shop that has beads or any kind of sealer **** the price goes waaaay up. Like has been said, it takes only minutes to do a good balance job and only a few more if I have to break it down to rotate it.

I'm considering trying them on my upcoming tire change. I don't take my bike to a shop for tire changes so no one will be bitching but me.
