Just bought and installed last evening a new PCIII USB for FJR. Thanks to Warchild and his FJRtech.com....

Thanks Warchild !

...the install was very easy, with the hardest part being disconnecting the electrical connectors. Anywho, the Dynojet instructions made not one mention of disconnecting the oxygen sensor, so I didn't. Rode the bike and it feels fantastic, of course it felt fantastic B4 the PCIII as well. Perhaps there is somewhat less buzz in the right handgrip, but more ;ikely it is the placebo effect. Certainly no difference in the butt dyno. Needed the PCIII tho, as new pipes are on the way.

Now if they just had a map for stock headers and 2 Brothers slip-ons.

Ack!

You NEED TO DISCONNECT THE O2 SENSOR!

Dynojet has really dropped the ball on this one as they have not revised their installation instructions. If you call them, they will tell you to disconnect it.

Why?

With the O2 sensor still connected, the ECU is still running in closed loop mode downstream of the PCIII and will be making corrections based on its programming. Negating the effects of the PCIII.

Unplug that bad boy!

Now!

What are you waiting for?

Go out and do it.

There is nothing more to read here.

Just do as your told for once, eh?

Thanks SkooterG. I placed a call to Dynojet, but it was not answered. Emailed their tech department, so should hear back sometime from them.

On the Dynojet site are several FJR maps with various configuration FJR's and noticed most, but not all for the FJR, mentioned they were for configurations with the 02 sensor disconnected, making it look as if a couple of maps are for FJR's with the 02 sensor connected.

Anyhow, I gotta look it up in the service manual (CD) where the disconnect is for the 02 sensor. Probably right on the exhaust pipe fitting itself I would guess.

If you open the map on your PC, it will tell you that it was done with the O2 sensor disconnected. It is under the tank on the right side.

yep. disconnect it. but do it up under the tank. keep the sensor connected down on the pipes so road spooge doesn't **** up the contacts.

Thanks guys!

Dynojet replied to the same effect and they would check their written instructions.

And Warchild has big instructions of how to disconnect 02 sensor, just under the instructions for PCIII install, DUH !!!

Disconnect 02 Sensor
