Finally after fighting the flu for all but a week I cracked open my new Road Runner Magazine.

I see an article that they may boost Corn Welfare to 15%!!!!!!!!! Seems that to do that underground tanks may need to be changed, retrofits of different rubber and plastics. Gas station's will not have to sell it, but with the market being what it is, how could they not for how cheap they will make the next batch of Corn Welfare.

My question is where are the Car and Motorcycle manufacturers on this topic? How can the warranty they sell with the vehicle be worth the paper it is written on since my car or bike was not designed for E-10 let alone E-15. Now if it says something that E-15 will not harm it fine, but tell my car, a 03 Turbo that!

Man it gives me a case of the *** that this is allowed to continue and as a consumer have no recourse. Yes if I am lucky to have a close real gas only station, I can spend the money to protect myself, which I have and I do, it does me no good 200 miles out.

Rant off.

Time to Group Buy the Marine Type, Corn Welfare removing/neutralizing agent mentioned in another thread. 55 Gallon Drum Pricing Please! Dropped shipped in various locations of the USA and we go get them.

Sure glad that in my riding area I can buy non ethanol premium gas.

I can see this thread going into the crapper real quick. :angry2:

I've weighed in before, but my rigs - including the bikes - exhibit an approximate loss in fuel efficiency of 10 percent when running E-10. In other words, I'm burning the exact same amount of gasoline per mile, plus the 10 percent ethanol, which destroys the argument that we are using less "foreign" petrol. I'm having to hunt down the E-free premium vendors but they get my business.

Start making corn muffins and freeze them. If we all do this we can get a run going on corn and it will be in short supply. Kinda like what the Hunt brothers did with silver.

Dam bastages gotta screw with everything. If its going to eat at the seals in the tanks that are existing it will do the same to your car or MC parts.

Heaven help us!!!

Should have put it over here to begin with, Admins my apologies.

I also want everyone to understand this is not about BTU, paying for less then what we get or anything of that nature.

Ethanol deteriorates plastic and rubber, period! Best case they will swell, worst they will break down and gel. Have you looked at what your injector housings are made of? How about those valve seals? Maybe the o rings the injectors go into. That PAIR mess sure looks like an issue +. Just anything plastic or rubber not specifically made to resist alcohol is fair game.

It just seems like this should be addressed more from a manufacturing issue where they will support and build to that level of Ethanol. I mean how are we as consumers being protected from being sold a bill of goods?

I would love to know if I go and buy Gas rated hosing at NAPA if that is tested to a certain degree of ethanol? Dont Alcohol Racers have to use special hoses and such?

Have all the party's and interests caught up to each other and are dealing with it. When I read an article or blurb and it says to dispense E-15 tanks and seals will need to be changed big red flag. Most have said 10 was as far as the whole thing should go because of this very issue.

Again not a money issue, yet. I see oil going sky high again and if good ol gas is 6 or 7 a gallon and E-15 is 4 or 5 what the hell you going to do?

I know the Sky is not falling, I just feel that we are being herded as sheep and we gonna lose our wool and not know it till we feel the breeze.

I have to use Premium in my Turbo and that is coming down to 93, some 95 in my area, not factoring in Corn Welfare. 2 years ago I could get up to 97 at the pump. At least the FJR uses Regular :)

The AMA fought this really hard, saying exactly the same things you have. *Supposedly* it's "only for 2010 & later cars & trucks" with "normal" gas available for older cars and motorcycles. Seeing how Florida totally outlawed non-corngas, I'm not holding my breath.

The phase "corn welfare" in and of itself is political. Thread closed.

If you want to try again keep it on technical topics, good luck.
