Wow, we had an earthquake here about 30 minutes ago. It was a small one (2.7), but the news is reporting it was centered about 2 miles SW of downtown Portland.

I live about 2 miles SW of downtown Portland.

2.7 magnitude, but the thing about threw me out of my chair and onto the floor. Guess that's a sign I'm at the computer too long tonight?

Of course I ran out to the garage and made sure the bike was okay, then I checked on my wife and daughter... ;)

(Edit: Okay all you Californians, don't dogpile me, I know 2.7 is peanuts compared to what you get, but come on...I'm in Portland - that's big for here!)

Ground shakers are NO fun...

As a Cali native, 2.7 is small... But when you live on the fault line, ANY quake is big.

I hope the damage is minimal... :)

Yeah, I felt and heard it too. One of our sliding closet doors banged back and forth and our dog started barking. We live in Milwaukie (about 6 miles from downtown) and it was nothing like FJR Pig described.

Funny, living in So. Cal., I felt the earthquake too, but didn't think much of it. It lost alot of energy by the time the aftershock reached So. Cal. I'm still waiting for my share of the beachfront property!
