I'm most interested to see if this is a worthwhile farkle & easy enough to do.The cost seems OK.

I don't really have a problem(that I know about) with my ' 06.I seem to stay with traffic @65.

Indicated on speedo. But I would like to know for sure that I'm doing what I'm suppose to do in MPH.

Sorry Groo-I had a senior moment.I was talking about the speedohealer on another post.I think there

is some kind of math formula for setting the correction on this item. Sliick2

The way I think Smitty did it on my GSXR when he had it from what he explained was this.

He has a GPS so he went out and looked at the bikes speed vs the GPS speed.

Then went on the speedohealer website and they tell you based on the difference what to put the little jumpers at for correction.

Seemed pretty simple.

Now short of a GPS maybe you can get someone to ride/drive beside you.

You then are relying on a factory speedometer which we all know are off and done that way on purpose to make us feel we are going faster then we are.

On-line Calculator

I didn't see one listed for the FJR?? Oh I see it has a univeral harness for the fjr, probably uses quick wire connects instead of using the factory connectors. No biggie...

Edited subject of your thread so you wouldn't be accused of bait and switch.

The process is to first find the sensor which another thread already answered this. Apparently it is on the transmission. Follow that to the connector. If they made a harness for the FJR it would be a simple matter of unhooking it plugging the speedohealer into it and then plugging the other end that you took out into the other connector on the speedohealer and done.

With the univeral wiring kit it will just mean using connectors to "tap" into each wire.

Then mount and set switches.

Really is a beginner job...

FredH says the 06 doesn't have the above mentioned sensor on the rear of the motor.

It is a wheel sensor. Seems we are going backwards in technology. :D

The second link is Fred's description of him installing a yellowbox not speedohealer on his 06...
