EBC Brake rotors

I noticed that EBC sells racing and OEM style rotors. Does anyone have them? I wonder what the real advantage is to the petal style rotors versus the Stock OEM rotors. Maybe a little less weight. I hate experimenting with parts that may be a safety issue.

If I remember right, GunMD went to them after having issues with his ABM wave rotors. I've never asked him if he noticed a difference though.
