Right now chatter on the Buell forum seems to indicate they're going to continue racing at least through the next event or two.

Unfortunately that just added 120 people to the unemployment lines in East Troy, WI. I had really hoped to see them be successful. I've had my Buell since 1995 and have met and spoken with Erik on several occasions. Ever since Harley shut them down and pretty much screwed over every Buell owner it hasn't turned out too well for him.

That's sad news. I had really hoped Eric could succeed in building a sport bike here in the States.

What a class act though. Even though we all thought he got screwed royally by HD, he always took the high road and was gratefull for the opportunity they gave him.

Somehow I still see him succeeding.....somehow, somewhere, someday.

He's got a ton of talent - brilliant designer and engineer with the most creativity in the business, but apparently not the best head for business and management. He'll land on his feet...somewhere.

No surprise, most Buell ownes who I have talked to had lots of problems with his bikes. Quality means something and his creations were just not reliable enough to with stand the test of time. It wasn't all Harley's fault when they gave him the boot.

It will be interesting to see what he comes up with next and I do wish him well.

Met him and had drinks with him a few times - here in downtown Milwaukee, not far from East Troy...

Too Bad for the news, but I'm not surprised... He makes some great looking stuff, was at Road America to debut the soon to be released 1125R. Ran that and the FJR on the track all day long... Was sorry to see the separation from HD, was pleased that he made forward motion with the design of EBR... Beautiful machines to see in person. Well designed.... But alas if no-one is buying, well then....
