From a message received tonight about Star Motorcycles - Virtual Bike Show

"Star Days is in Longmont, Colorado, July 27~30, 2006."

So, does that mean anything bad re: Yamaha's participation at WFO?

On the contrary!

We learned late last week that Yamaha USA WILL BE attending WFO-5 in Reno, Nevada!

In fact, we will have several well known corporate representatives attending.

AND... we will have four (4) brand new 2006 FJR1300 there that registered attendees can take out for demo rides! Two are regular ABS models, and two will be the new electric-shift model.

So.... WFO-5 has indeed morphed into the very first FJR National Meet, complete with Yamaha USA corporate sponsorship!

More info to come as we know it.

Humm....4 bikes (really 2 as I would only be interested in riding the AE model) divided by 250 FJR riders equals no ride for me :-( ....still you have to give Yamaha credit for signing on with 4 bikes.

This is GREAT news for the FJR community and will be a phenomenal event. As we've already had a fair number of folks from the midwest, east, and even eastern Canada--it truly looks like North America is invited to this event. We're at 241 registered. I'd like to imagine 500+ at this event......FJR's lined up as far as the eye can see!

I can imagine seeing shades of blue and silver peppering northern Nevada for days.

Thanks Warchild and others who helped Cypress want to come.

So, will any those rides be happening at the track? :dribble: :dribble: :dribble:

I can go collect a speeding ticket on my own bike anytime I want. It's probably even a little easier in Reno. They have those wacky TV cops there. :D

Edit- I lied. Should have added "Once I finally get it back from the shop". ;)

Hmmm, better get my reservations done.

Hey,

Great news, might have to have a lottery to get any test rides though. Either way its great that Yamaha is showing interest.

Good job, Benevolent Dictator, sir. :D

Dale and HMarc are just 2 of the 3 Co-Rallymasters for WFO-5.

The man who did the most pushing on Cypress to attend was the 3rd Co-Rallymaster, Dan Denchel of Sunnyside/FJRGoodies fame. We all owe him a serious beer for Yamaha USA presence!

And don't let MadMike2 fool you all any.... he has a *critical* Staff role in Reno: he is in charge of Security for WFO-5! So you better be nice to him, since he and his crew will be manning the Pavilion exterior bay doors that let folks in/out of air-conditioned parking!!

Have the Group Dinner and Farewell Dinner been sorted yet? I just want to make sure I don't get left out....mmmmm....food!!

I am booked into the Hilton for the Sunday night too. Anyone else staying the extra night?
