It is with great sadness that I'm reporting the demise of my FJR. I was coming home from work in north ATX when a SWF made a left turn in front of me. I was going 40 MPH and the bike and I went down hard. I got a busted right hand and my left shoulder got hit hard too. It could have been worse but I'm a ATGATT rider. The EMS gave me an ambulance ride to the hospital, the bike was unrideable and was towed. The LEO that worked the scene stated on the MVA report that the other driver violated my ROW. I'm glad he got that part right because I would be SOL trying to make an insurance claim. I've got two other bikes but I've got a case of PMS (parked motorcycle syndrome) due to my STD ( short term disability).

Sorry to hear that. Glad you are still here to tell the tale - could have been a lot worse. You may need to get an MRI, you seem to have picked up TLA syndrome.

I feel I should apologize on behalf of SWF's, but I won't - not all of us are that clueless.

Damn glad it wasn't worse; hope you heal up quick and don't have any problems with the other driver's insurance company trying to lowball you.

Hate to hear about the loss of one of those rare '03's, but even more so your injuries. Glad it wasn't worse. Follow the doc's orders to a "T" and heal quick!

Sorry to hear about the demise of the bike - but glad it wasn't you!

Heal quickly and take it easy when you get back in the saddle. Sometimes it takes a few rides to shake off the PTSD.

Glad to hear you walked away from this - well almost! And can joke about it.

Do you get to keep the bike for parts, or does it go to a wrecker?

Really glad to read that you are relatively OK. ATGATT may not be the most fashionable, nor the most comfortable summer attire. But it does do one thing exceptionally well. It saves bacon. Your's n mine.

Glad you came out of it relatively unscathed!

Heal up quickly and begin the hunt for a FJR...lots of good buys out there!

Glad to hear you're ok as well. I crashed my 05 2 weeks ago, kids on cell phones, abrupt stop and I discovered the ABS doesn't work so well in a hidden man hole cover! Four broken ribs and collar bone. AGATT as well so I'm ok like you. Just sucks to know it can happen so quickly when you least expect it. Thanks to ebay my 05 will survive and be back on the road when I heal.

Mend well...and get back on!
