What are the best engine protection guards I can put on a 2014 FJR and where may I purchase them? I can't seem to find any over the internet that seems to be super all-around protective of the fairing as well as the engine.

I have T-Rex sliders and MC Ent. bag guards. Have not yet joined the "I Dropped My Bike Club" yet. While you are doing prevention farkling. you may want to consider FZ1 mirrors. If you drop the bike and the stock mirrors meet the terra firma or man made surface you will risk breaking the subframe.

I have the T-Rex set up with engine guards, crash pucks and bag guards, because I am an accident waiting to happen most of the time.

Added the crash pucks on the front axel last night. Fairly easy but I did have to find a large washer since they didn't make the threads long enough. Fortunately I had one.

Went T-Rex after researching the tip over on front guards with the canyon. Did have a problem with a defective bolt and t-rex sent on two replacements (only needed one) and had the bolts in two days.

Canyon Cages on my '13 model saved me from some expensive damage in Oregon last week. It did fall hard enough to scratch a mirror, but I was amazed that's all it did.

Tested the T-rex guards last week. They saved my *** and did what they were supposed to do. The only scratches were on the guards themselves. The rest of the paint was protected. To think I almost held back on buying them.
I dread to think of the damage and down time it would have caused me without them.

Was that on the new '15, Dave? How did your mirrors fare? Or did the bike not roll over that far?

It was on the 2015 Fred. My heart jumped a mile when it happened. It fell on the downhill side and the mirrors survived with room to spare. They stick out a little further because of the brackets also. If I had thought about I should have taken a picture of the fall. The adrenalin was rushing through the veins though. It didn't have the aluminum pieces on the rear guards at the time also. They are out for anodizing right now. I left the flat head screws in the holes. So the guards did get some road rash but that's OK. I am not sure whether to leave them like that or spray bom them later on. I am not going to bother for now.

Well, having not experimented with flopping the 2014 yet, I'm glad to hear that there is not always mirror subframe damage on a casual drop like that. I know we all like to let our feejers take a nap now and then. But replacing that subframe could get to be a PITA
If it were me, I'd shoot the scuffed bars with some rattle can black, then get those newly anodized guards on there. I bet nobody would be the wiser.
