Engine trouble warning light

2016 ES, 3,000 miles, less than a year old.This morning, she didn`t start on the first kick. Tried again and started right up. The pesky CIL came on and after a 30 mile ride, still on. Seems to run normally. Any suggestions? My dealer is 50 miles away. I`m trying not to make that trip.

It seems that issue has been mostly been caused by an incomplete key turn. That sounds related to its reluctance to start. Probably have to go get it cleared.

Yamaha has a fix for the CEL...the dealer can flash the ECU...only takes 5-10 minutes, I just had mine done thursday with over 11k miles on it. I obviously wasn't in a hurry.

Thanks guys. I tried disconnecting the battery to reset but didn`t work. Light still on.Yamaha on Wednesday.
