I have September vacation picked and I am hoping to be there. You have secured some smoking great deals on room rates and I am booked!
I was the first one to post up after Wayne's announcement January 1st and one of the last to sign up. Master procrastinator extraordinaire.

New tires are on order for Friday delivery, and 13 days to get prepared, and finish my to do list around the house. I am the Master Procrastinator so I guess I should just be happy if I get the tires on and some clean underwear packed. I will see you all on the 22nd!
Woo hoo!

725 miles of mostly super slab on day 1 to get to Blue Ridge, GA and then on day 2 I think 74 to 129 past the Dragon then back to 28 and 19 thru Maggie Valley to 40 and then 221 and 21 on to Wytheville for around 390 miles. Don't know if I will have time to stop at the Wheels Thru Time museum there in Maggie Valley but will be going right past it.

Any suggestions for improvements?

Ride the bike to DC and then hook up with me for the ride to Wytheville.

Sounds like an invite that y'all should snag up!

...plus Bob knows where the good eating and drinking holes are!

Ya know what I've been noticing about this whole thread? There's not a peep from Billy Fritz, (Yamafitter). His absence is noticeable. Hope all is good with him and that he had something better to do. :)

Unfortunately physics and the space-time continuum will not allow that. I'd love to but working Friday and meetings in DC start Saturday afternoon. I'm fast.... But not that fast. That's like Jimmy Johns fast. Or Delta airlines fast...

You may have done this last year when I had to bow out, but NC80, Roan Mtn, Snake, VA58, RT16...

As soon as I win the lottery this will become an option... A wonderful, fantastic, awesome, and long overdue option.

Ah yes, good reminder. What're your plans this year?

Edit: dammit... so many roads so little time... staring at google maps and moving lines around all over the place... Thinking to myself, "ooo, that looks good... how much does that add... hmmm, which road do I want more... 14 hours seat time on twisties is probably too much after a 700+mile day... plus I've got two more days of twisties once I get there. And I have to get home too... Argh!" *sigh*

Yes, I'm excited.

Route files are posted on www.fjreom.com now (link).

There is one Googlemap link pending, but the rest are there and the downloads work on my PC in both Chrome and IE browsers - if you have any issues, please PM or email me.

Downloaded and imported, Thank you!

Donna and I will be looking to join a group of the slower, flower-sniffin', picture takin' riders! :D

Wayne, any word on Saturday night's menu, or will it be a 'rider's surprise'? :hypocritesmiley:

So today, I'll get the panniers out and start figuring out how I did it the last time they were packed. It's like each time I pack, it's the first time again. :banghead:

Oil change will be Friday, then load the bikes Saturday. Then, it's acting like a 5yr old on Christmas morning, before opening presents, the next 4 days. This is when the excitement amps up!

Oh, potluck...what are you bringing?

I'll get that posted later today, thanks for the reminder....

My free maps arrived a few days ago, so now it's time to figure my routes for the week....also a fun part!

Took the lining/pads out of my helmet, and washed them. Just like new!

Although adulting is holding spkldoe and me back from attending, but I reckon if you are going to ride that far we will now be in and out Sat afternoon/ evening so I can finally meet your sorry azz! Safe journey.

Well that and to see the rest of these clowns as well.
