Just wanted to post up on a recent experience with Escort.

I have an X50, that experienced some trauma, and something was loose in it. It was falsing like crazy, and the sounds were different.

I called up escort, and told them what was going on. They said, "How old is it?" I said, "Just under 1 year old."

They replied, "O.k., send a copy of the receipt and we will fix it for free because it is still under warranty."

Well, i wanted to emphasize, I caused the damage, it was my fault, but screw it.

Further, I was given the receipt by the person who purchased it. The receipt did not have my name as the purchaser.

Top notch repiar, they replaced the damaged antenna, and the damaged plastic. They even sent it back with a new power supply, a new mounting bracket, and extra suction cups. Top notch, way to go Escort!

I'm always glad to see someone get good service from Escort. It gives me some sense of balance, especially when it's someone I personally know.

I've now had two repairs done on X50s. First one was rain damage, three months after purchase. I also purchased the two-year service agreement on that unit directly from Escort. They charged me $140, took over four weeks and I had to call and harass them to get the unit returned.

Second repair was rain damage (on my backup X50 unit). They charged me about $80 and took two weeks.

Like I said... Glad Keith is the recipient of good service. Maybe I should just ride slower and stay out of the rain?

Escort service comes through again.

My radar came back and was working fine, then one day I go out, try plug it in, nothing. Hmmm,, bad fuse? Check fuse, looks fine.

Let me try the car charger, maybe the wire is just loose? Nothing....

Then I borrow a friends radar and power supply. Plug his radar into my power supply, nothing.

No way, both of my power supplies died at the same time, thats odd.

Maybe my radar still works? Plug it into his power supply, nothing. Wierd. Now I switch back his radar to his power supply, dead....

My radar detector is frying power supplies!!!!!

Call Escort, let them know what happened.

"O.k. what's your e-mail. We'll send you a shipping label. Print it out, put it on the box, and send it in. We'll repair or replace it."

Shweeeeet. Guess Escort loves me, and hates Jeff!!!! :p
