Well I can say without a doubt I am very pleased with my Avons.

While heading north on I-85 (between Charlotte and Greensboro) I got caught in some thunderstorms.

Traffic was fairly heavy but flowing between 75 - 80mph. There were about 8 semi's in the center right lane and I was in the far right hand lane. With visibility decreasing as well as seeing quite a bit of recaps all over the place I felt it best that I pass the row of semis for better visibility plus the less liklihood of hitting one of the recaps that may come off their tires. I was just passing the middle of the pack when one of them decided to abruptly come into my lane without any warning / signaling. With a little throttle and evasive action into the emergency lane I was able to get by him without any problems.......although normally I find truckers to be the better drivers, I still expected one of them to do something stupid.......which he did.

Figuring my odds were better with less traffic I decided to exit the highway and take some of the back roads.

I was pleasantly surprised how well the Avons can hold a line.. Other then not having any rain gear with me.......it was a pleasant ride. Even the so called heat issue was a positive......it helped keep my pants dry.

:D
