Experience with windshield trims?

I have seen the stripping that goes around the edge of the windshield. It is supposed to clean up the airstream and keep rain from dripping over the top edges of the shield so much. I'm not so worried about the rain part, but I would love to hear from people that have it. Does it work?

I have it on my Cee Bailey +4+3 shield. I think it adds about 1+" of airstream. I also like the gutter effect in the rain. I had it on my concours and pulled it off before I sold it. (It is a bit pricey!) You also have to get use to having it around your sight line.
