I am about to buy an 08FJR. What are your thoughts on extended warranties for these bikes. To warranty or not to warranty, that is the question!

Thanks in advance for your replies. BTW this seems like a great site.

If you do decide to get the extended warranty, you can purchase the Y.E.S. warranty anytime up to 1 year. D&H Cycle in AL seems to be the baseline for pricing on Y.E.S., $389.

My dos pesos.

If you're planning on hanging on to it for a while, get it. It has paid for itself 5 times over for me and I will never go without one on a bike.

Had the extended warranty on my '04 abs. Never had an issue, but the piece of mind was worth it. Ride it like I stole it and she keeps asking for more. Pushing 100,000 strong as ever.

Buying an extended warranty for a car is something that you can probably skip. Buying an extended warranty for 400 bucks on a motorcycle is a nobrainer.

And, even more so when you throw-in the cost of towing and staying at a hotel if necessary.

It just payed a near $2000 bill on my '06. I bought my Y.E.S. thru D & H also, biggest bargain going . . . .
I'm bringing my bike in for the valve adjustment, My storage is too cold for working in. What cost $2000.00???
I had to have the middle gears, shaft, & bearings replaced which included pulling the motor. 14 hrs shop labor & parts add up quickly. . . .(near $2000 was my guestimate)

I have a recently purchased 06 and went with the warrentee. I have an AE so with one more thing to have break I really felt it was important. Not expensive and great peace of mind.

I just picked up my Y.E.S. from my local dealer a couple days ago. I did opt to pay a bit more to help the local guys stay in buisness. However I did go in armed with D&H pricing and that got me alot better deal. I've never bought an extended for a car.
