I went last year, but took my little boy. I would be interesting in making a Motorcycle weekend out of it this year. It's June 17th (Sunday) this year, but practice/qualifying is on Friday and Saturday.

Anyone interested? Alabama riders?

I know this is "regional" but it's also race related . .

F1 without Shuey is going to be muy boring - triple what it is now. Just a long conga line going round the circuit with passing only in the pits. Yawn.

What are you comparing this to? NASCAR?!? Indy? Champ Car?

I like the spectacle. I understand there's more overtaking, etc, in a series like MotoGP, but anyone can buy an R1 and feel like they're part of the show. I got a lot of love for the MotoGP and AMA guys, but there's also something thrilling about a 20,000 RPM race car that goes 200+mph and brakes and turns at 5 Gs.

Besides, I don't think that was the question.

There are plenty of choice roads through TN, KY, and S. IN.

Let me know if you want any IN route recommendations.

It would be an injustice to just slab it up 65.

In Indiana, a detour to Shoals will provide plenty opportunities for good roads. 150, 440, 56, 446, 45, 135 (s. of 46)

Lots of good roads near to Ohio river to.

The rest of the state pretty well sucks for sport touring.

In KY, 421 from Frankfort to Madison is very nice.

Then follow the river over to Corydon, IN for some excellent riding.

Find your way to Shoals, Bedford, Story.

Yes, we've already said we'll go by way of Deal's gap. It's a one day boring trip by I65, but we've decided to make it a two-day sight seeing jaunt. I'll print this off and look for those other roads, too.

Thanks for the suggestions!

You must have missed Shuey's drive in Brazil :clapping:

Lots of drivers changing teams next year, and looks like Massi is getting comfortable in with the Ferrari, could be he can chase Alonso down, and Alonso won't be with Renault next year.

Lots of dogfights in the middle/back of the pack we don't see on TV, and of course stratigy.

Could be very interesting next year, with only one brand of tire on the cars. Bringing more focus to driver and car performance.

Yes, I would love to attend another F-1 event, now I you guys would stop telling me about all these cool farkles I could put some money in the bank and go.

At some circuits the lap parade thing is true, but not so much at Indy. The run around the banking and down the front straight is long enough to set up a drafting pass into F1 Turn 1, so there's passing there just about every lap.

On a more general note, seeing an F1 race in person is worth it at least once. Television doesn't do justice to the acceleration and braking those cars have. The first time I saw an F1 car brake onto pit road at Indy I was amazed. It was like watching a magic act - one moment the car was going fast, and a split second later it was going slowly down pit road, with only a puff of carbon dust as evidence that the brakes had been used. And they sound cool in person too.

But on TV, F1 is not as interesting. I too get bored watching it on TV.
