Can Lewis do it? He only needs to finish 3rd to take the crown in his rookie year.......This will be a long race for us Brits, lets hope he can salvage our pride after the rugby result.

Lewis had a heck of a season, but alas, no, it didn't happen. Won't spoil anymore of what happened in the race.

I put SPOILER in the title deliberately because I knew I would be putting the result it. I hoped that it would be that Lewis had won.
He had a rush of blood in the second corner and ran off the track which moved him down to about 5th then he had a problem with the car and lost 40 seconds while he pressed buttons under instruction through the radio.......then the team made a huge cock up once again and made him one of only 2 cars in the race to stop 3 times.
After the technical problem he dropped back to 18th and once he got the thing going again he charged through the field, at one stage passing 4 cars in one lap. He made it up to 7th and only neeed to pass 2 more cars when he had to pit for the 3rd time which terminated his chances. Had he passed just one more car Aleisee(spelling?), his team mate, was going to be told to drop back behind him to give him the extra place that he required. As it was he finished 8th and lost the title by just one point.
His dad was very philosophical about it and said ''to have hoped for this a year ago would have been rediculous. We are so happy that he has done what he has, if he doesn't win the title next year he will the year after.''
At least we have James Toseland!!!
