I just off of the phone with my local insurance agent in the north Houston area. Thus far for the past few years I have had my VStar 1100 insured with Progressive at an annual fee of $182.00; which includes 20-40-15K Liability, $500 Deductable and $500 Collision coverage. I earlier had called Progressive direct and got a quote on my new 07 FJR at an annual rate of $748.00 for the same coverage. I am a very senior citizen and thank goodness that I was sitting down at the time. I do realize that the costs will increase with a more valuable and better performing bike. My local independent agent steered me to Dairyland with increased Liability coverate of 50-100-25K and the same Deduct and Comp coverage. The Diaryland price? $558.00 per year, or $190.00 per year savings! For those of you in my area who are interested, you can call the Haley agency at 281-364-7888 if interested. Jabber

Jabber, have you checked out Geico? I looked at all the major companies and Geico by far beat all the others. I live in Ca. but that should make me even higher premieum than Texas. I pay under 500 for the FJR and coverages of 100/300/50. There are alot of cars running around here that are in the 50k plus range so I had all my vehicles upped and sleep better at night. Good luck, PM. <>< :exhappysmiley:

Dairyland here. No tickets. No claims. 100/300/50 coverage. $3000 worth of accessories before needing a rider. $250 deductible. Full coverage (without PiP because I have health insurance): $275 a year (after the 3rd year with them... started out at $500 a year).

Oh yeah, and Dairyland doesn't donate radar guns to police departments or cancel your insurance if they find out you have a radar detector. i left GEICO after 10 years with them when i learned that they would cancel your insurance if there was any ticket or other report of the use of a detector - even in a vehicle you owned but didn't cover through them.

I tried Geico as well as State Farm and AAA. The cheapest for the same coverage thus far? Nationwide with a quote of $466.00. Jabber
