Fall Foliage Ride(s)

Beth and I would like to make this it is only 7hrs from Indy to the Old Clark Inn. I really like the look of the place and the 24/25 is the best for us. How long before we pull the trigger and make reservations? I just spoke with Andrea at the Old Clark Inn and at this moment they have 9 rooms available 4 with queen bed private bath for 77$ and then 6 others some with own bath some with shared. 3 or so have 2 beds in the room. She was nice enough to pencil Beth and I in with the promise that I would call her on Friday and let her know one way or the other.

Man, it's tempting to get the wife and join you guys. We're from Martinsville, IN. We're heading to the Smoky's the 12th for a week down there.

I'd really like to say that I'll be staying at a hotel with everyone, but since I'm in the position that I'm in, I will be trying to bum an evening stay with some buds... you know who you are if'n you read this.

Bob, the weekend that I am going to CT to pick up my bike has beed decided. I will leave Hampton Roads in 2 weeks on the 15th & returning home on that Sunday... unless I take the long way home which is likely.

Heidi - feel free to join us the 16th - 18th in eastern Ohio. There's a gang getting together to do some riding on the 17th - 330 miles of twisities. Check out post #113 of the S.E. Ohio Day Trip thread in the Midwest regionals.

There's a chance that we just may be able to join you guys in Marlinton, too. We'll see...

I just called the Old Clarke Inn and you have to make reservations for 2 nights. Didn't know that.

I got penciled in for the 24th and 25th just to be safe. As it stands right now I got a room with two beds and private bath. I can share the room with someone. I have to make a decision about the room by tomorrow night.

Yeah, I just talked to the lady there and she told me that there is a two night minimum. Either Friday/Saturday, or Saturday/Sunday. I booked Saturday/Sunday night and leaving on Monday. Is that cool with you? If so, we can definitely share the room.

OK George, I will call them tomorrow and book the room. The room with two beds is $77/night.

Also, they have more rooms available to the FJR rider group. Jay/Sharon, you may want to give them a call.

Btw, got my tires today. I love the smell of fresh rubber in the morning :lol:

That stinks! I can't stay two nights. I will be looking at other options.

The more I think about this 2 night minimum, the more it pisses me off. I wasn't planning on staying two nights either. My funds are somewhat limited too. I don't think I will confirm my room today. Didn't really plan on camping. If I can't find a good alternative, I will not be able to go.

I just talked to Andrea at the Old Clark Inn and she has some rooms that she might be willing to back off the two night minnimum and do just a Saturday. I told her we were interested in 3 nights and tried to make our extra night work for you guys. Hope we can put this together.

Not really a matter of funds, just that I don't have the time to take off. I will commit to a room if I can get it for sat. night. We could always just go to the old reliable Briar.

I just talked with Andrea at the inn and she thinks she can hook me up for just Sat. She will be calling me back to confirm.

If we can not all get the reservations that we want at this place then let's bail to the Briar. We should make that decision by the end of the day today.
