Thanks again Bryan & Marrissa, it is truly a refreshing time to be in the company of so many like minded people, not to mention the coffee after riding through the carwash that was Bellevue on the way. George with a feeler gage and Duane with a mouth stuffed with pie. And Marcus discovering two electrical farkels he did not have. Even got to talk Canadien for a bit eh. I think Bryan should claim these as work days as he is always into somebodys bike.

Yes, it made quite an entrance. I really, really like it. I must have it. I was leaving just as they arrived. Can anyone fill me in as to how it was done?

Two strips of LEDs, looked to be siliconed in place - VERY cleanly. Definite that time was taken to ensure a clean, pro looking install. Obviously the LEDs are waterproofed, as are the diodes, etc. in each strip. Unsure exactly how the wiring was done, but would be easy to find power from any key-on source up front. Hoping the owner will pop into the thread with details.

Also in attendance was an FJR with wide-angle mirrors added to the stock mirrors. No biggie you say? Well, these were www.muthco.com units, with built in LED flashers. There is a noticable range within which these were SUPER bright - retina-searing bright, in fact. Perfect for catching the attention of those to your side and behind you. Yet not so bright from the rider's position - enough that you see them working, but not distracting, IMO. Again, hoping the owner will pop into this thread and offer up more deets. EDIT: Yes, thank you Brian and Marissa, for your hospitality and graciousness. You two put on a great event. I didn't do any work on my own machine, but got to watch hands on work on a valve check/adjust, a TBS, and watch Hudson install a PCV with Auto Tune. And I got lot's of pics of other folks farkles for future project ideas of my own.

I picked up this practical item for cheap while in attendance. I use my bike for running errands of all kinds year-round, and I anticipate it getting well used.

You got it. But first, on the Audi farkle, were the LED strips mounted inside the lens cover or outside?

Ok, on the Muth signal mirrors. These are a "universal" unit, three inches diameter. The mirror spot I chose to mount them on does not compromise rearward viewing on the stock gen2 mirror, because, as most gen2 owners know, the lower inside corner only shows your shoulder and elbow anyway. But I was not happy with the blind spot coverage, so I installed the other two blind spot mirrors.

This does not show the full brightness at all. I tried the full on viewing angle and it overwhelmed the camera.

I took the wiring into the cowling by taking the mirrors off and running through the mount hole. Then I removed the #1 and #2 inner cowling panels, which gives access to the turn signal wiring, and pulled the wires down and spliced them in. I used posi-taps.

I just got back to Vancouver about an hour ago and I want to add my thanks to the others; Bryan and Marissa, you are great hosts and I'm sure I can speak for those of us that stayed over Friday and Saturday nights (Kasey, Feeger and me) that your hospitality was greatly appreciated.

I ate too much, drank too much, slept too much, didn't work hard enough and learned a hell of a lot. Can't ask for a better weekend than that!

They were mounted on the outside of the stock headlight cover.

Thanks to Bryan and Marissa for letting the crew *visit* their home and share our passion. Was great to have El Cajone and Kasey make the trip across the border. Hope the trip back north wasn't too bad today.

Feeger's valve check was a snap thanks to all the willing help on hand. As is mostly the case, everything was good although the exhaust side was just a hint loose. Definitely better than being tight... Lots of cool new farkles to see. I'm sure ahchiu has plans already in the works!

Thanks Brian and Marisa for hosting this event. It's nice to finally meet all of the folks i see on the Forum. Pretty good crowd for a rainy day too.

Gotta say I love the hill going up SE Lake Holm Rd to your house Brian. I've ridden great roads like the Dragons tail and Hell's canyon but that hill is more technically demanding than anything i know of, next to your driveway that is. Throw in some rain and a few hundred leaves and we're talking major pucker factor.

I guess my LEDs turned out to be quite a hit. A few guys were asking where i got em and how they are wired:

I used the 21 LED Plug-N-Go from Custom Dynamics and wired it with a relay to the parking lights so they go on with the key. They are such low draw you could probably get away with wiring them right to the lights. The length fits a Gen II perfectly. They have a good automotive double stick adhesive and I mounted them under the headlight in the gap between the cowling, then took some RTV caulk to seal them from the elements because it looked like the adhesive would only hold up so long under the punshment it would get out front like that. Now i am waiting for real LED headlights. Gonna have to hit a new R8 to get them.

Once again, Auburn and the Missus came through with another fun tech day. It was great to see everyone, and those who didn't make it missed out. Albert, nice to meet you, and looking forward to MotoGP next year! Kasey, how inspiring to see you enjoy your FJR, I wish more lass's were out showing us how it is done. Thanks to everyone who helped out with the PCV/Autotune upgrades, thanks to Auburn for his awesome Datel install, and thanks to everyone who helped ensure the driveline lube didn't turn into a disaster (nothing else need be said!!).

Here's hoping the weather subsides long enough for a fun ride before the snow comes.

I just got home. Kasey grabbed a hotel room after we had lunch in central Oregon and will be stopping by here tomorrow on her way to Yuma.

George, Dave and Marcus thanks for working so diligently on my bike. It was great meeting so many of the PNW crew. You are a fine bunch of peeps!

Considering the weather actual (and forecasted snow for the mountains) we had a great turnout. Thanks to feeger for coming up from Sacramento to allow his bike to be the demo bike for a valve check.

It was a lot of fun to see everyone who was able to make it. A lot of stuff was done, we had a great demo of how to lube the drive shaft and reassembly by Hudson :lol:

Someone asked me about my PC3. (Please PM me, I forgot who it was)
