Well, after a year of an "off again, on again" relationship, I finally sold the FJR. I have to say that it was one of the easist bikes to ride I have ever owned...and I have owned a bunch of them! For some reason I could just never jell with the bike.

What I really want to say though, is "Thank you" to all the members of this forum for providing such a great place to learn, make friends and gather valuable information. Like many of you, I have been cruising several forums for many years. I have my favorites and this is one of them. The information is valuable, the people very helpful, and while there is plenty of humor, this board is not overrun with constant bickering and stife. Thanks again for all of the lessons taught and advice given.

Oh, here is my latest ride: :D

Shep how did you go about choosing the Multistrada instead of say...... the ST3?

That looks like a very versatile bike. Have fun/ :D

Why does everyone leave upon departure with the FJR? Do you get like, excommunicated or something? If I ever change, I'm still coming in just to screw with the natives.

Sweet looking ride, by the way. I saw one "live and in technicolor" up on Cheaha mountain near here. Cool.

You stated one of the reasons I chose it, versatility. I came from another versatile bike, the BMW GS to the FJR. I demoed a new GS also, but the Mulit felt so much lighter that I went for it.

Actually, a year ago, when I purchased the FJR, it was the ST3 that made me want to give up the GS in the first place. I decided to be more practical...dealer location, maintenance, etc... and go with the FJR. I think that is why I had some difficulty appreciating the FJR, it was just not the right bike at the right time. I would still like to have an ST3, but I do not get to travel much right now, plus I got a much better deal with a leftover 05 Multi than an 06 ST3. The Ducs depreciate pretty fast so I think I could pick up an 04 or 05 ST3 in the next year or so for a good price. Actually, I think I will add a DR650 first. I enjoy exploring the local gravel and unimproved roads.

I will say this about the FJR; you've gotta love the motor! It pulls like a freight train with no end in sight. Also, I can tell you that I found it to be the easiest bike to ride long distance that I have ever owned. And that included two BMW RT's. Take care. I'll still be around. I have never been much of a contributor, more of a listener and observer. I will still be listening!

When they leave the FJR, we cut off their hands so they can't do the secret handshake anymore... makes it tough to type, so they stop showing up.... ;)

 chooser mumbles something about pulling all personal photos, changing address, leaving country...
