I had a guy into my office today ... and he asked if I was still riding Harleys. Haven't thrown a leg over one for 'bout 8 years or so.... but, did go thru the bikes I now have and said I had an FJR.

He said.... "So do I..! Bought it last May, an '05.".

What are the odds, eh? That some bloke would come into my office who's been a client for 25 years and I didn't even know he rode a motorcycle? Whatever.....

I told him I hated the ergos of the FJR. Hands, back, wind, legs.... yada, yada.

He said he had a new windscreen (forgot the name), new saddle (Rick Mayer?), and BMW grips and risers, too. Loves the bike... Go figure.

I guess that those of us that have problems with the comfort of the bike are not new to the genre'. Seems it has been there before, eh.

Déjà vu all over again.

" Déjà vu" MEANS "all over again".

You've been listening to the idiots on TV newscasts for too long! <G>

Its a shame that we cant do all the same things to the 06. Risers would have made a difference, but fat chance of them fitting. grips and throttlemeister done, Throttle spring release tommorrow night. Windshield july 1st (v stream), seat 2007, heat shields to save my boots from the pipes, as soon as they arrive,,,maybe that st1300's heat problem wasnt so bad after all.

I aint going back yet, but i would much rather be riding that farkling.

Awww,

You know you like it! Half the fun is tracking this stuff down and watching the wallet empty out :D

I really can't speak for anyone else but here's how I feel about my new blue baby. I got her a month ago and have got almost 1000 miles, damn the two solid weeks of rain!

This bike is so much more motorcycle than my Concours. It corners like a dream, cuts the wind and accelerates like a gazelle, feels amazing while bucking the semi's on the slab and slides through the traffic like it belongs there. The ergo's are fine for a little dude like me who weighs in at 145 and 5'9". There is a slight vibration over 70 but the bar end weights from FRJ Goodies helps, my throttlerocker and vista cruise are a nice addition and allow a bit of relief to these 53 year old arms and hands. All in all I am so jacked about this machine. I stopped at the local triumph dealer over the week-end to look at some new toys and when I came out there were three guys standing around her checking her out! They wanted to know everything about the FJR and after I left I realized that there is nothing that I would change about this bike at this time.

I am looking forward to my trip to Reno, Sun Valley and Boise later in the summer and can't wait to let her stretch her legs a bit, hope I can find a place with no deer or antelope to freak out!

I'm amazed that there are guys out there who can't seem to do anything but bitch about this bike, if I was dissatisfied I would sell it in a second and buy a freaking harley like all of the other wannabe's.

:yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

You *are* aware of dhrines' '06 risers, yes? I ordered a pair, should be here in a week or two. Do a search, you'll find 'em.
