Well, it's not as dramatic as a move to the Darkside,

but I moved to the Fatside

today. Went on a 20 mile ride just to get a feel for it. Didn't get a lot of curves to test, but a few really tight and a few nice sweepers. I know there has been lot of back and forth about it, but it sure feels quicker on turn in to me. Oh and the speedo is observationally right on at 60 mph instead of the 2-3 mph over like before.

 
Not to disagree here, but I have a question. Are you comparing it to your former worn rear tire? Any new tire will have the feel you describe BY COMPARISON, as you probably know.

The new 190 is still quite a bit taller than a new 180. I'm sure the difference is quite noticeable to most riders

Of course, going from "old" to "new" no matter what the size does feel different (hmmmm, my ex-wife said that when she left...

), and I also went from a PR2 to a PR3. So probably not a scientifically valid comparison, although I did attempt to mentally "go back in time" to when my PR2 was new. I'm not a scientist and I'm pretty comfortable with subjective observation as long as it proves out over time.

So only time will tell if I still like it. I just wanted to know what the next Darksider number is!

 
It is hard to compare apples/apples when you come from ole-wornies, you have to figure out how much better that you think if you went with just new 180/55's which give you wow factor as well. I say there is (was) more wow factor hence that I will not be going back to the180/55's EVAH!
