What is your favorite ride?
Is your leaky Honda back from the shop?

I prefer the smoother roads down South such as most Dutchess County highways and the smaller highways in the Catskills like Frost Valley.

I may ride in for the day to crash your party next June. Will you let me keep up? Maybe I'll bring Pop's along so at least someone can keep you in sight.

I rode through Frost Valley yesterday. Most of the road was pretty beat up from hurricane Irene and more recent flooding. One section was officially closed, but passable if you don't mind 100 yards or so of very bumpy wet gravel in a narrow single lane. Hopefully they'll have that road back in shape for spring.

My favorite local ride is in the Catskills. I take 28 west from home in Shandaken, NY to Margarettville, then Route 30 around the Pepacton reservoir to Downsville, then county road 26 to Route 10. Route 10 to Delhi and then 28 back home. :yahoo:

Frost Valley is ruined pretty routinely. This spring I was up to my axle in loose dirt because the were rebuilding the road near you.

Never been on CR26. Did you ever hop over to CR2 to bypass Delhi?

Yes. CR2 is great. I haven't ridden it in a while because I like to stop in Delhi. In fact I often just keep going west on 28 out of Delhi towards Oneonta or north on 10 out of Delhi up to 23. Fun roads and nice scenery.

Can't beat the KY roads.

Unless you like sweepers likeNC181
Thanks for the reminder Bill. Been awhile since I rode NC181. Not that it is any thing special. Just one of those lazy country roads with lots of traffic

and nowhere to pass. ;) Just a 1/4 mile or so from your B destination is Christa's Country Corner. Also nothing special ;) but I do eat there once in awhile.

I've put that food spot on my map. Nothing special Southern cooking is to die for in the North!

This was my ride up the hill going to EOM last year. Lucky to see no traffic and the PoPo driving down the hill didn't come after me.

Had a favorite urban after-dinner ride in Atlanta. From Dunwoody: Mt Vernon-Long Island-Mt Paran-Northside Drive into the city. Left at the Georgia Dome, wiggle through 3 blocks of one-ways, left on the legendary Peachtree Street through Downtown, Midtown, Buckhead and Lenox, then left on Peachtree-Dunwoody back to the house.

Hills, curves, pretty houses, pretty flowers, shady trees, ... then gritty city, a canyon of high-rises, ... and back to the hills, curves, flowers, and trees. A relaxing 45 minutes, and perfect with a full belly.

Enjoyed your ride videos, Easy Ed, especially Mount Greylock, and look forward to springtime in New England with a new FJR and riding buddies who can lead me to good places.

I haven't done a lot of riding in that area (Adirondacks) but I have to say to date it is some of the most enjoyable riding I have done. I have done Tracy road several times and all I can say is " it's a blast!!". It is such a scenic area with some good twisties to keep the Adrenalin going.
