Last weekend... June 2-4. ADVriders BYOB meet.

Hoped to talk w/ the owner of the '06. I walked over & looked the '06's newness over hoping f/ the owner to approach... but no go. I was wondering if either of the '05 or '06 owners are members here.

The '05 was sitting/camping out in the middle of the openness.

I'm the owner of the silver '04 that stayed/camped over the brige near the creek.

Was this anyone here?

hiya Heidi;

We haven't met yet, but JimLor mentioned you during a quick conversation we had about a week ago. I believe the owner of the '06 you saw was "FJR Gary" who does post on this board. He's from the Arlington area. If I knew how to do some sort of redirect -- I would. He's already clocked some very decent miles on his '06.

Hopefully he'll get back to you on this...

take care and best regards

Patrick

Hi Heidi -- I witnessed a 06 traveling down I-264 eastbound toward Va Beach last week -- couldn't catch up with him! (imagine that!). Perhaps more FJR's in the area??? Lets ride sometime. Jay

Hi, this is Mike from Fredericksburg with an 06. This weekend I rode to Smith Mountain Lake, and then to Durham NC with some buddies from NC. They said the 06 at Wills was Doc from Chapel Hill NC. Which is strange because he is a hardcore BMW guy that just converted!!

Hi Mike, Hi Jay, Hi Patrick!,

Thanks for the info guys. Wishing the '06 owner had come out f/ a talk. Would've liked to ask questions.

Anyway... you guys... we need to get together for a meet of the Old Dominion FJR Riders group.

Patrick - Lorie and I went out for about a 6 x hour ride yesterday. Went around Warrenton on 17 then came back down and went west on 211. Came back and stopped at Molly's for iced tea before heading home. Kept an eye out for you but no joy! We'll have to get together soon.

Thanks for thinking of us Jim...

Unfortunately, for such a beautiful day, we weren't out on two wheels. We had our grand-daughters birthday party followed by a rehearsal. The day was packed and it was right to spend the family time -- but, it would have been great to see you folks too. Would have liked to hear your report on the class.

(Next time you're in Warrenton, you might want to check out the new pub -- McMahon's over on Business 29. They seem to have a more consistent kitchen and wait staff.)

And, if you're in our area again, please don't hesitate to use that cell number.

Best regards

Patrick

Hi Heidi

I had no idea that you were going to be there. We could have met up somewhere. It's only 50 min from my house. I wasn't there, but a few of the local TVR guys went that are also part of the ADV riders group. The TVR actually had their annual camp at Willville this past weekend. Did you like Jimmy's stew?

Hey Ingo... wassa' happenin' mister!, I didn't feel at will to invite anyone along. Please don't take any offense. I was invited by one of the ADV members.

Willville's campground is VERY nice. The only dislike was the "no fire @ your campground law"... just that one large fire in the center of the camp. Ya' know, that would keep me from going back again. I believe that a big part of the camping experience is having a fire. Otherwise the place is absolutely awesome... nice & clean, layed out well, etc.

I didn't partake in any stew, though. We brought our own food. It looked good enough.

We had the best camp spot in the place. You can go right across a small bridge that crosses the creek at the backside of the campground, we camped there... right alonside the creek.

Couldn't believe it... there were actually good sized crawfish in the creek!

Also, you ever ride Squirrel Spur Rd? OMG! We rode it at least 6 times over the weekend.

Sent you an email!

I didn't get anything. It must have gone to work. Will see it in the AM. You take it easy. Good hearing fr/ you Ingo. Will be in touch when I'm out that way again. Hey, you know about the West Virginia FJR Ramble this weekend, don't you?

Oh, forgot a link to the information for the Ramble. Maybe alert Shields & David to this also, please?

Mystery solved- that was my FJR at the ADV BYOB at Willville. I got in late friday night after a drenching- and then was around all weekend. Sorry we didn't get a chance to hook up.... there was a lot of tire kicking and bench racing going on!~ I saw you roll in on the silver FJR on saturday- we had two blue '05s in our group- and my blue '06.

It was a great weekend- the weather really came around. The ride home on Sunday (route 8 to route 40!) was fantastic...until the Tstorms caught me around Fredricksburg.

Hola Jabba!

Maybe we'll meet @ one of the many area rides sometime. Nice bike ya' got there. My friend Jeff was checking it out, also. He was the guy I was riding with that had the black Wee-Strom. Jeff also owns an '04 Feej... kinda' like mine.

Did you hear mine ticking like a ****** when I rode by??? Hahahaha!!!... 'cause she does!

Got in on Friday. there was approximately 5 people there. Good thing... we got that killer campground! Saw a few Feejs roll in. Kinda' surprised since it was an ADV meet.

Anyway, did you get a chance to ride Squirrel Spur Road? Tight sweepers & new pavement equal fast fun. Scraped my boot... about that time I drew seat upolstery into the pooper.

Anyway, nice to hear fr/ you. Will be looking for you @ future Old Dominion rides.

Did Jeff have the SUPER bright headlights on his Weestrom??? One of the Stroms had aftermarket bulbs in- and I was trying to figure out if they were PIAA's or something else??? Even posted a question in the thread about BYOB over on ADVRider.Com Never found out who had those and what brand they were, but dayum were they bright compared to all the others~ I rode over, under and around Squirrel Snot- but never on it... everybody was talking about that road though- have to check it out next time. We did a nice 200 mile loop on saturday- just 4 of us.... and we found some really tasty roads all around Willville...mostly on the eastern side of the BRP~
