Just a long whine here to like minded people, seeing as everybody else tinks I'm nuts. I'm going nuts w/o the bike and just wondering if anyone else has had the same happen to them after an accident.

As we all know, I was lucky to walk away w/o major injuries, or any injury at all really. Although I have a abdominal strain that may turn into a hernia  , can't really attribute it to the accident since it happened 5 days later during a frickin' sneeze of all things. But we have nothing but great weather out here and all I keep thinking is how nice it would be to ride! I'm sure it doesn't help that I planned the hell outta next week for WFO and now that ain't happening either. I'm even getting nervous at all these 2005's popping up and getting paranoid 'bout all of 'em disappearing before I can get close to one. Hopefully ins will settle quickly and I can fly to wherever I need to so I can get my "fix".

Like I said just a big whining post outta me becaus Feej is gone and I'm in perfect condition to go riding. Just wanna make sure this "itchiness" isn't somethingI need to see a shrink for. Is it true someone can find "that place" while riding that nothing else can? In the winter it takes a while for me to get to this point but, at least I have the weather holding me from riding and it gives a good excuse. Hopefully my lawyer(friend actually) will have an idea on how long this crap will take, until then I gotta find something to do to keep me from being whiny. The other favorite option is out due to abdominal strain, it hurts to cough w/o guarding my stomach, and no, the muscle doesn't have any derformity to it. Not to mention the "boys" are still hurting from slamming into the tank hard enough to leave a big dent where the tank pad was.

I feel your pain :(

I was feeling the same after slamming into a tree back in Sept. I was off the bike for 3 months till my bones healed up enough that I could stand to ride again. Broken collar bone, broken shoulder blade, 3 ribs, lacerated liver, and blew all the tendons out in my left thumb..... again :dribble: . Then couple months after getting my FJR, damn tour bus knocks it over and it's in the shop for 6 weeks. The cure is expensive, and intails getting a replacement.

Heal up fast!

Evil,

I know how you feel...at least while mine was in the shop getting the head replaced, I thought I'd go nuts. It is amazing on how much this bike gets to the root of our soul and makes everything better. Without it, something's missing.

You should be able to get the Personal property damage/bike replacement done fairly quickly, this is claim 1. Now for the physical/medical claim side, you can delay it for almost up to a year? (ask to be sure) This way if you have any latent soft tissue damage, etc that crops up, you can still make a claim on it before you do the full release to the insurance company.

In the mean time, may many '05's be available for you and wish you a full and speedy recovery.

Man, you need a spare emergency back-up bike. I keep my kid's old 1996 650 Seca in the shed for that kind of emergency. I actually rode the damned thing last year when my FJR was laid up getting bent wheels made round again. An added benefit: riding a half-assed back-up makes you appreciate the main machine much more. Glad you're healing and ready to climb back on the horse.

Don't ya know, my 06 was only laid up for 10 days(waiting for new ignition switch), at the end I was jonesing :hyper: so bad even the dealer felt bad and as soon as the switch came in, had the shop drop everything and put it in. :good:

I have another bike to ride, it's just not the same. :eek:neeyedsmiley02:

Yepper, thats what my '05 Shadow VLX is for....it's my back-up in case of really inclement weather or if I am down for some kind of maintenance issue. It can't quite make up for all the void left by my FJR's abscence but it's kinda like cold pizza. It's not as good as the original but in the end, it's still pizza!

Won't hurt to pick the one, commit and explain the situation to the owner. Once the check comes, get it. Some of these sellers would, I'm sure, prefer that to waiting and having guys back out etc. Your rep precedes you here, after all........ ;)

When my FJR was laid up for repairs after the crash, I was laid up also, so it wasn't too bad initially. Problem was the FJR was ready to ride before I was, THAT WAS painful !! Time and patience Evil :) -- then before you know it ........

Well, got some good news yesterday. It seems the "other" insurance company wants to settle this stuff quick, seeing as I'm not trying to add any income might be a reason. My law person said they'll be looking at the Feej this monday/tuesday and the rep he spoke to told him they wanna settle the auto part quickly. I even get to add new helmet and glasses to the bill. Somehow Greg(my guy) and the female rep seem to have similiar views on how much medical was saved by my broken gear and she's happy I'm not trying to be a millionaire.

So hopefully SOON I will be an FJR owner again! But it's the wife's B-day this week and Oshkosh too. I gotta find a way to make both enjoyable for her in order to live long enough to see another Feej :D
