The first televised session of the year was only half an hour long. It was not raining but had been and the track was very wet. Stoner went out in the first 5 minutes and set a time that no-one else got to within a second of. He went back out towards the end of the session and did another couple of laps to improve on his time slightly.

2nd and over a second down was Rossi. I think Hayden was 4th. Results not up yet so I cant check they will be HERE when they are posted.

JT went out for about 5 laps towards the end of the session and managed 12th.

Why is Rossi shown on Stones and Lorenzo on Michelins???

Where you been mate?

Last year Rossi was on Michelins and blamed them in a big way for his inability to keep up. He made the demand of Yamaha this year that he had Stones.

Lorenzo is not in Rossi's team, although they share a garage there may as well be a brick wall between them. Yamaha decided that the two ego's would not work and so have given Lorenzo his own set up, including the Michelins that were standard fare for the team last year.

I am just praying that they get in a couple of dog-fights on the track. My money is on Rossi to come out on top. Or maybe Lorenzo to take them both out.

Man , What if Wee Dani P takes em both out ? Or maybe slidin Toni E ? Looks like they are ALL gonna have their hands full with Casey at the bat ! I wouldnt count out Marco yet but I'd really like to see Yamaha have another championship...just not too sure about this Lorenzo guy...doesnt seem to be a team player...they make helmets that big?

Blessings,

Bobby

You would think Rossi would be flying now that his pockets are $51M lighter My thoughts are up in the air on this. I fully realize that wet weather tests are important. However, I also realize that they shouldn't necessarily be used as a true measure of testing progress. Most riders/teams are not pushing to the extreme levels during wet weather testing as they would be in a race or during dry weather testing.

Why risk a $1M machine for a $40K BMW (that the rider usually gives away, IIRC)?

Look at the difference between day 1 and day 2.

Nicky (1:38.848) fastest followed by Lorenzo (1:39.252) , Dovisioso (1:39:313), dePuniet (1:39.351), Rossi (1:39.568), Toseland (1:39.727), and Stoner (1:39.845)

My bad. I am going on sleep deprivation having a 5 month old at home. I totally flipped them. I will go and stay in a corner for the next 20 minutes.
