The manual says the final drive takes .2 of a litre of lubrication. It also says fill it up until the amount hits the threads of the filler hole. But in reality it took almost .4 of a litre to fill. So what's correct ?

if you rotated the wheels while doing the fill up - it will drop the level - keep rotating and it will gush some of the extra you just poured in.... out.

My guess is that you will see some seepage after you tighten everything up and go for a ride.

Put it on center stand. Fill until oil is at the threads on fill plug hole.

If wheel is rotated level will go down, but after a few minutes it will return to normal level. Its a no brainer, fill till its at the threads.

Actually, the illustration in the service manual shows it filled till just before it would start pouring out - not to the bottom of the threads but to the bottom of the angled fill opening. That would increase the amount a bit although when I did mine, I didn't measure the amount it took. I just filled it to there and sealed it back up. I don't remember if I spun the wheel but I probably did and I did get a bit of seepage from both the filler and drain holes. I attributed it to re-using the old crush washers. There is no pressure in there, other than what is generated by heating.

You mean someone actually drains all the fluid, refills it, drains the new fluid, and measures it to an accuracy of 0.2 liter?

Some people have a lot of time on their hands (and final drive lube on their floor).
