I ordered an 06 FJR a while back, thinking that I would be able to finance it through Yammy simmilar to what Harley and most auto manufacturers do. I was just at Yammy's web site and it stated that current promos do not apply to FJR's  . Will I have a difficult time financing this bike having about 3k down without paying huge interest fees? Is it better to go to my bank? I have great credit so I didn't imagine this would be an issue.

I was able to secure financing for mine through my credit union at 5.7%. It's a better deal than Yammie will give ya.

Adios....

I have had a fantastic experience with what used to be Peoplefirst - now Capital One Auto Finance - I have had 2 cars and a couple of bikes financed through them. Excellent OnLine place to work with

https://www.capitalone.com/

Even though they bought out Peoplefirst, they are still really good - immediate approvals and decent rates and good customer service.

Just a suggestion

Be very wary of the Yammy credit card. We got stung bad, with a payment that was ONE day late. They jacked the interest rate up out of sight. For the next bike, we got a much better deal with a credit union.

State Farm had a better rate 5.6 than mr credit union last week. I plan to us the 1.9 life of the balance plastic I have. Call your card. I get special offers all the time.

I guess I lucked out when I got my 05. I had 6 months 0% interest with no payments for 6 months through Yamaha. When the 6 months came to an end, I was able to finance through my credit union at 3.5%. I guess timing is everything.

The 1.9 deal was great, and we made the most of it with two bikes on his and hers Yammy cards. Just got caught with that ONE late payment.

This time around, BMW's finance beat the credit union, with 100% financing.

When I got my 'o5 in December '05 I got it on the 0/O/6mos. plan. After 6 months the interest was at 13.99%- a little high but it IS a recreational vehicle. When the new laws came in to effect in December, Yamaha raised it to 17.99% interest on the card. That IS too much! So got mine refied thru CapOne at about 8.9%.. much better. The point is watch the card interest rate very close. Along with the extra fees they like to throw in ..there definately it for the money not for the buyer.

I was at my Yamaha dealer the other day and I talked to the Finance person and she said Yahama was offering the O% for 6 months on the Yamaha Card. I figure that I will use the 0% for 6 months and pay as much as I can for those 6 months and then refinance though a CU for the difference.

Don't forget the Home Equity Line of Credit Route, interest is tax deductible and rates can be quite competitive with cut rate plastic rates.
