I was on hand to see fellow member Etcher pick up his FJR today from Yamaha of Napa. It was looking good and Etcher is impressed with it. I hope that he shares some of his impressions with us, as he has been without a ride for 10 years.

Here is Etcher (Stu) just before his launch:

This is the bike being prepped. The technician is adding the secret anti-tick compound:

Whooooeeee, a rather poor choice of verbs, don'tcha think?

Etcher, congratulations! Enjoy your new FJR, and remember, "This ain't your Daddy's CB 750!"

My 'Lay Off' was more than 10 years. I suggest you do some reading. Hough, Proficient Motorcycling. MC's like playing catch (more complicated) you have to have the right reflexes without thinking. Hough's books get your head in the game. It will bring back to focus the knowledge you stopped using 10 years ago. I myself bought a 650 Suzuki to get my skills back on. I hadn't decided on a long term (FJR) till a couple months later. So just practice doing everything right before you try and find out what you got under you. Definetly practice stopping the bike as fast as you can. Good Luck, & Ride Safe! TJ

Was just at this dealer today. Stopped by and they have one unsold on the showroom floor. Said they wanted retail plus all the normal stuff on top, $15,800. Looked very nice. Thought about trading up but my 03 has all the cool stuff. I think I will ride it another year.
