The two combined has worked pretty well for me and I just completed a round trip of about 1900 miles over 4 days.As to the numb hands I have adjusted my grip (much more relaxed) and that takes care of most of that problem for me.  It now happens only rarely and when I spend long hours in the saddle.  Good luck and enjoy your ride.</blockquote>
