This is the link to the pictures they post, mostly of the bikes riding through town.

Check out page 9 in the prerally group....look at picture 269.

If you're a forum member ( in the photo ) be sure and post your impressions of Sturgis.

I may go someday but have not yet. I do enjoy seeing the pictures of the bikes. Most of them anyway.

Look for mine, It will be there tomorrow. Leaving in about 12 hours........... I am sure I will forget something............

To Identify my bike, WI plate, 04 cerulean silver, givi46, v strom handguards, v stream shield and black sheepskin seat covers and darksider rear tire. If I am on it, look for a middle aged, gray haired, ugly fat guy with a smokin hot little wife on the back. (she may be reading my posts)

Anyone else going enjoy the ride!!

Peace, TBWRENCH

Have not seen you yet. But from the link above check out: 080309b0013 for another FJR...'05? Anyone here know this guy?

They are similar, but according to some that do have the 06, theirs is prettier. They do have their right to their wrong opinions. Jes saying.

That's a pretty blue, but not as pretty as an 05. Ain't that right Fjrpig?

I think it is a 05. The FJR decal is missing off the Fairing like a 06 but the

plastic side panel under the tank and infront of the seat should be silver on a 06

and this one shows black.

Just my $.02

I think it needs a Draggon Decal on the Fairing...

Edit: I looked at a picture of an 06 and realized the fairing is differnt on a 06

so this one is a 06... My Bad!

well, things seem to be winding down at Sturgis Rally as of Sat pm....few "arrival" pictures being posted.

However, there is a FJR making his way through the gauntlet...go to 080609b picture 0639 on page 20. Since I obviously can't tell one blue year from another I'll just say it is another blue one.

BTW, there are also some interesting suspenders displayed (nws) on that page or maybe +/- 1 from that page.

It is just interesting for a natural voyeur to check out the stream of humanity flowing into that small town for this rally. It takes "what not to wear" to another whole level. Entertaining, informing, the bikes range from fascinating to boring as do the riders.

I've been watching this web site for the past 5-6 years and am still captivated by the whole thing. I guess some day I'll have to go and see it first hand. maybe I'll start out simple and easy and hit the pre-Rally for a couple of days.

and another interesting link is below with sturgis stats....through 8/1. I really need to see if this has been updated.

here is the 8/7 update:

https://www.state.sd.us/news/showDoc.aspx?i=11088

almost all categories for Sturgis look down from last year. I wonder if attendance and thus these '09 numbers are down from last year.

I really need to get a life, right? If it wasn't 99 F and heat index of 107 I'd probably be out riding instead of surfing.

Seems to me he should of got a custom seat before taken the trip.
Towel under arse
Hey I was in Sturgis on the 3rd to the 9th and had lots of rain and a real good hail storm so he might just have a wet seat ? but it still looks funny! I "road" mine from Columbus Ohio and back, round trip was 3538 miles I have a 07 AE was a nice trip had a lot of guys ask about the bike or say the have read about it
