Seemed like a long time coming, what with medical stuff and the weather up here. Did the 3-pass for about 294 miles. Left the Cathcart store around 0930, took highbridge and then Ben Howard thru Sultan (no bakery stop) and little traffic for a sunny Fri.. Highway 2 over Stevens on the other hand had several clumps of jumbled traffic, two many people listening to the weatherman and doing 70+ on the straightaways (like Baring) and doodling along around 55 in the curvy sections, noses to tails. Hammered my V-stroms fuel mileage but love that torque. Road in fairly good shape, wet at the top east side where the snow melt drains for a few weeks. Coles corner shows no sign of a resurgent 59er dinner, going by the Lk Wenatchee rest area observed 20 +cruisers lined up two abreast in the parking lot getting ready to hit the road, those groups are harder to get by than most other traffic. Took 207 around to Fish lake and than on to the river road to Plain, The Old Mill Cafe is open, +/- 95 miles from the Cathcart store that route. Food and service very good, still closed Tues and wed, hours 0700 till 1400 trying to get staff to stay open all week this year, call ahead 509 888 5102 for status if that is in your plans. Headed out the Chum toward Leavenworth, took a left on North Peshastin road over to 2. Roads were nice, farmers are out doing their things. Went over Blewitt, very nice, good news is all the traffic was going the other way, If there is another road that can be a more tempting ticket bait passage I do not know where it is at. Liberty Cafe at the S. end of Blewitt was open. Then came 90 east, one of my least favorite ways home, from about Lk Easton to the summit the right lane is extremely rough, everyone wants to stay left. Speed limits are variable and you may get run over from behind. Several Kaaaa contacts and one victim observed. From Preston N. up the valley to Highbridge was the worst traffic of the whole trip, 1600hrs an a sunny fri. every form of vehicle imaginable was out, we stopped at a little roadside park for a 20 minute break, it was very warm out. Highbridge was crowded also, got home, shed riding gear and crashed.

Sorry to hear there is no activity at the 59er Diner. I can't count the number of times I drove or rode past it and never stopped. Finally stopped with a small group several years ago and again on a solo ride. Can't believe I passed it so many times and didn't stop. I've resolved to not repeat that mistake again and now have a small list of places I will stop at the next time I am riding.

Seems like someone mentioned there is another one in Cashmere.
