After owning my FJR for almost 3 years, and reading about many of your own adventures in farkling, I finally made my first performance modifications.

I added;

- 4 into 1 Muzzy exhaust system (thanks 2WheelTiger!) ***Sound clip link: CLICKY

- Dobeck (Techlusion) Fuel Injection Controller

- and did CDog's caveman easy airbox mod.

Thanks to all the posts and how-to's, everything went fairly smooth. That is except for the removal and install of the radiator....dang that sucked! :dribble:

Here are a few pics, mainly of the finished project. The 'in process' pics are on another camera.

This shot looks like an older FZ1 to me, but you can see the left side without the pipe.

Completed CDog's airbox mod, not bad huh?

I installed the Dobeck unit under the rider seat in the storage tray. I relocated the little tool kit to under the pillion seat. This install was a breeze! I had to lengthen the wire to the negative battery terminal but that's it. I've made some slight modifications to the 'suggested' settings so far. I'm VERY happy with the results. The throttle seems to be 'lighter' or more responsive. On my first test ride the front end came up in 2nd gear under acceleration. FUN, FUN. :yahoo:

The sound is exactly what I was looking for. No, it's not quiet anymore but after almost 3 years of riding 'stealth', it's what I want. It seems like she's come to life.

Left side. I think it looks cleaner, and accentuates the shaft drive. I like it.

And lastly, my helper. He also got the first ride before his big brother. He was sooo happy.

Thanks again to all of you for the posts and how-to's. You made my weekend much easier!

Peace,

Sound clip on YouTube: CLICKY

Sound clip added to original post as well.

My dog likes the new sound too! You can hear her in the clip.

Drewvan... check the fender!

Great farkling.
The exhaust sounds pretty cool. I'm not used to seeing a FeeJ with a 4into1 exhaust, kind of like a chick with one ****.

I remember that alien chick in Total Recall that had three ****s, but never thought about only one.

Wait... were you saying my bike is a ****? Ha ha!

Where is your helper's motorcycle?
He's between bikes right now.

But he loves riding with me, and we'll get him back on the dirt soon. :clapping:
My son has been riding his own bike since he was three. It's been great, given him extra confidence. Now he's almost sixteen and laps me when we race hare scrambles together. But we still get some good time together. Because of his playing soccer, riding bicycles, paint balling, etc. he's way too fit for me to stay with him. He also has many thousands of miles as a passenger with me, and soon, as a fellow rider. I just hope the cagers don't hurt him on the street. I still ride with my Dad. Motorcycles really do bring people together. :friends:

Bryguy322 had asked for some pics with the bags on.

Here ya go!

By the way. Had a great ride this week with a buddy on an 05 CBR1000 (stock).

We were very well matched up through 140 then ran out of road. He couldn't get away from me. I was as surprised as he was.... then he asked to switch bikes for the ride back!
