Got to ride a bit today. The snow and ice are gone for now. Shop called Monday to set up the switch recall for this morning. It was a short ride but any ride is a good ride. :yahoo: Be safe.

I was actually able to get out a couple of days around the end of the year or right after the 1st. Warmed up enough to take it out a couple of days this past weekend. Am now feeling guilty that I haven't wiped it down to remove any salt kicked up from the dry roads.

It's been a cold January with some snow but it finally warmed up on Saturday and melted the rest of the snow. I got out for a ride on Sunday. It was 52 at 8 AM and got as high as 61. Lots of salt and sand on the road, lots of wet road from melting snow in the hills and along the Delaware and little windy. Even spit rain for a minute or two but then the sun came out for the rest of the day and it was perfect. Got home just before dark and gave it a quick rinse under the garage spot light.

Got my fix for now but I'm already feeling the itch again - spring can't come soon enough!

:yahoo: Yeah, I got to ride a couple days to work. It warmed up to about 54. Bike was filthy though. Took her down to local car wash and gave her a quick bath. She loved it!

This winter season I haven't gotten to ride much at all. With the ice storm and the super cold temps all winter long riding time is sparse.

Usually December is filled with 60° days, January has some 50° days and February has some great 40°+ days. Not this year. Hell, we had hurricane force winds here a week ago.

I usually wait for all the planets and stars to line up so the roads are clear of salt. This year I've had to compromise a few times. For the times when any salt gets on it I have one of those pump-up garden sprayers filled with warm water and a tiny bit of car wash and, with the bike in the garage, I hit all of it and wipe it down thoroughly. I can't leave it with salt on it.
