First time since I bought the bike in June that I didn't...

Ride into work.

Feels kinda weird. I had to bypass the reserved motorcycle parking, look for a space and now find myself mildly worried about door dings on the car...LOL

Commute was very different - I mean the same route simply didn't look the same to me. I don't actually recall most of the drive (chatting with my wife), but I can vividly recall the route when riding the FJR to work. Poor girl (bike, not wife) is all cooped up in the garage at home, alone, cold... *sobs*

Until today, I have literally ridden to work every day I have been here - blazing heat, rain, wind, cold - didn't matter - I rode. I like that. Bought the bike on June 28th and just started riding every day.

...the really, really sad thing is, though... I could get used to taking the car... :( Must... resist... can't... give in... car evil... bike good...

Heater, air conditioner, radio/CD/XM, waterproof, no special gear, carries a week of groceries, carries large quantities of beer, carries hot coffee. Can't figure what people see in those things.

Some in WA needs to perform an intervnetion - Sportsguy is slipping! ;)

I know what you mean - I ride every day unless there is snow and ice. From time-to-time, I have questioned my own sanity, but usually it passes when I twitch the right wrist a bit...

You will make this day up [raining hard at my home now :Snorkle: ] by riding to the tech day Saturday.
Saturday calls for no rain.. see you there..GOT PIE??
So, ... pie is the cost of admission? Wonder if it'll hold up in the top case on a twisty ride... :D Well, it's plastic - easy to clean at least... and given it's pretty new, I'd say clean enough for folks to eat off of should the pie, er, umm, "slip" while in transit... ;)

Twisting my wrist usually does correct my attitude... :)

...and there will be no intervention if I bring home a Challenger R/T or Camaro SS... ;)

HA!

I, too, had ridden each day since mid-July from Bremerton to Bellevue, and just the other day took the car during that insane-rain morning we had :angry2:

The radio, the cup of mocha, the relative quiet was...hypnotic to say the least.

I found myself hitting the inside of the door with my left foot a couple times as I came to a stoplight in an attempt to put my foot down.

I, too have found myself getting soft and taking the cage way too often, for convenience, and I'm a little rattled from all the accidents in the NW this year.

Nonetheless, this kind of talk does not belong here. Lashes to us all!

Kind of a silly thing to worry about here in the NW. Ride EM when ya want, park EM if ya wnat.

Just sayin.

See ya in Totem Lake in the morning.

You're right, it is weird when you do drive in.

I actually loath driving my cage to work. People tell me, "...Oh just drive in that day." I say, "NO! I like riding in."

This morning, I needed to go to buy a new pump for my heating system :cold: . Was drizzling, not raining, but first for a while, so taking it easy.

Even so, came to forty mph road, third gear, opened throttle, whoops :bigeyedsmiley: - rear end snakes. Reduces throttle, bike straightens, but not going to be a fun ride  .

I totally understand. I've ridden into work every day since March of this year. With deer season and daylight savings coming up, I will transition over to the car soon. The commute seems longer, and my frustration is greater. I try to ride more on the weekends this time of year, but it isn't the same.

I am hoping the FJR will allow me to ride deeper into the season, and start riding earlier in 2010, but we'll see. For me, it isn't about the temperature as much as it is about being seen by other commuters and avoiding deer on the highways.

Don't worry about it so much, we'll all miss riding but it will make the spring that much better.

Well, pouring rain here in Kirklandia this morning. I'm getting ready for work, and after a wonderful 140+ miles on Saturday, I'm kinda not stoked at the idea of slithering though town. Oh well, at least I know moving the side vents out does redirect airflow, so it'll entertain me trying to figure out if that includes redirecting rain flow. :D

also, it's a chance to try out the new headlight modulator around town.

Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll stop raining right around 8am. ;)

... All the same, I'm going to test drive a Jeep tonight. ;)
