Hi all, hope you are all well.

Just fitting an STS system to my 2012 bike that cancels my indicators automatically..

I need to splice into the indicators circuit, near(ish) to the flasher unit between it and the handlebar switch.

My first problem is getting the inner cowl off on the left hand side, all been easy so far, getting the screw out of the light adjuster was a pain, but its done, now I can't see how to get the inner cowl unclipped, its loose and free all the way around except the top, assume it's just plastic tags at the top any advice would be useful on how to free this.

Having done this, I was thinking is the left side best, or is there another best way to access it.

The work is to splice a couple of cables to the flasher circuit, and another to a switched 12v supply, it uses almost no power so was going to use the accessory socket.

Thanks chaps the bit I am struggling is: When removed screws and plastic retainers and then the left headlamp adjuster knob, the panel is loose, except at the top, I am reluctant to force it and break plastic tabs, how do you free this bit up to get it out.

From what I remember of the Gen 2 (I now have a Gen 3, you think the Gen 2 is tricky?), it's just a matter of manipulation. Provided you've removed the screws, the headlamp adjuster cable nut and the plastic pin rivet thingies, it will come out with some fiddling.

Correct, it just unsnaps along the top edge.
