Her Harely must have broke down and our intrepid FJR rider took pity and is delivering her to safety?

My guess is that rider and passenger BOTH migrated from Hardleys...his level of safety gear seems to match hers.

Of course, it's all a matter of education and personal choice. When I got back into riding with my FJR, I thought I was geared up pretty good with my leather jacket, FF helmet and work boots. After reading on EZBoard in 04/05 and on here, I learned there are even more items of clothing that can help mitigate the need for skin replacement and or non-elective surgeries. :dribble:

you know... if there's any place where things go wrong more often then other places... it's the dragon.

No armor at all, lots of bare skin, no gloves...

have you seen pictures of the scars road rash leaves? It ain't even close to pretty...

Nice tatt though!

That's better than the FJR rider I saw as I was exiting AZ51 the other day, he was NOTGATT!
Lots of those around here. Bleeping idiots. But I don't say that from a protection point of view, I say it from a comfort and fatigue point of view. In these hot temperatures, it's much more comfortable to have gear on than not. When temps are 10+ degrees hotter than your body temperature and your riding around on the freeways at 70mph, the wind blast is like a direct hit from a hair dryer on steroids. Would you rather have that blast of hot air hitting you directly? Or deflected a bit? Apparently all the morons riding around here in shorts, t-shirts, and no helmet thinks its just groovy to feel that blast of super-heated air.

Idiots.

Yeah, after I posted I was thinking about it a bit and realized I was a little over the top. The thing is, most of the 'idiots' probably just don't realize the mistake they are making. I used to make the same one and it took me a while to 'wise up'. 13 years ago I came to Arizona after 3 years in Wyoming and I was happy as a pig in slop to be able to ride all year round. I didn't think there was such a thing 'as too hot to ride'. Well, I found out the summertime temps here can challenge that theory. Of course back then I rode a Harley with no windshield and my gear consisted of jeans, t-shirt, and steel-toe work boots. Oh, and gloves and sunglasses. ;) No helmet. And I was wondering why I felt so utterly fatigued after riding for an hour in 110+ temps. Or even 105. That blow-dryer was kicking my ***. I just didn't know any better. No forum like this back in those days with a bunch of know-it-all smartasses to set me straight!

So now I see all these bleeping idiots riding around and I feel sorry for them.

Thank You, Tom! Greg and AVGeek, stop yelling at me!

I wanna see where the tree grows from! :p
Sick minds think alike! That was the first thing I thought of as well!
Trees need fertilizer. Nuff' said.
Ha, ha! Good ones guys, let's see the roots!

The other problem with NOTGATT is that it drives up our insurance rates. That was a huge hit to the budget when I moved here last year.

That's a bold statement. Got facts? Here in Louisiana, we are a mandatory helmet state. Texas has no helmet law. The insurance in Texas on a 2008 FJR 1300 is cheaper for a 52 yr old male with clean driving record.
