Give it time. You only waited a couple of hours. Most folks don't want to eat up their drive lines and clutch like that on a bike still under warranty.

I drag mine at New England Dragway in Epping, NH. Best ET of 11:18@122 mph .

I weigh about 230 lbs dressed. No video clips as of yet. I do surprise a few other bikes including R-1's and FZ-1's. I know both bike's are faster but most can't drive them to their potential. The FJR is very easy to drag. Doesn't wheelie out of control like the others and won't spin either. Give it a try!

Hi Lenn!!!

Speedfreak (on this Forum) is looking to shoot some tape, maybe he would be interested in joining us at New England Dragway. The guy that took your sled videos did a great job.

I have put out messages to ~10 people inviting them to a meeting next Sunday (4/2) in Plaistow to talk bike, rides, farkles, etc. Consider this an invitation.

I'm assuming you're both just past the lights, he's kicked your ass, and neither of you have brakes or a chute that works.... :D

Actually, we are in line waiting to pull into the starting area. When my wife took this picture she didn't show the other line of bikes staging. I own the tree and the first 60', it's up to the guy in the other lane to run me down before the end of the 1/4 mile. Which Lenn's FJR does. <_<

Actually, all you need to do is run up the windshield and sit up. At least it works for this wide body.

A question for you experienced draggers, whats the best launch technique for our bikes? Whenever I leave a stop sign in a hurry, I always get the front end up to high to fast. There is a drag strip south of town a few friends and I have thought about attending and I want to make a good showng! I weigh about 175 geared up.

I've only run mine twice, and I improved 4/10ths. But I have a long way to go. My last attempt was 12.2 at 120mph. Any advice on the launch is appreciated.

If I go again soo, I'll get a video. I've usually got my digital video cam with me for the truck.

I think I'll run it with bags just for grins next time :)

Yeah, some guys I ride with have been a few times, they say it's a ball, I think I could beat the Buell, the Triumph, the Beemers and maybe the Busa but only cause the owner is scared to death of it! I just gotta get of the line alot cleaner.

Alan,

Just got back on and saw your posts! I've been busy riding my sled this winter on Snirt (snow+dirt=snirt) and just begun to think about the FJR again. Hoping for an awesome riding season!

As far as racing the FJR goes, (and Ionbeam know's what I'm talking about here)I've been to the strip countless times, so I've got some good seat time and know how to squeeze the most out of my bike. It's the 60 foot times that give you the best ET's. The trick is just the right amount of clutch slippage and throttle. Takes some practice but it's easy once you master it. If anyone is interested in playing at NED in NH, just meet me there on Sat. April 2nd for some fun. It's less than $20 for the day. Check the WEB site for NED at www.newenglanddragway.com for rules and what to wear or email me at [email protected] for more details. Here's April's schedule:
