Wow, that video could make you dizzy! What kind of bike is the camera on? Didn't sound like a feejer.

AWESOME!!!
Who wants to organize an Italy trip?
If You need some local logistic help just say.

I'm living nearby (in Slovenia) only 600km away from central Dolomites and by now I know those roads quite well.

That was sweet. I think I would be leaning uphill on the turns too for fear a bus was gonna take my head off. Themer some skinny roads.

BUT, I am perfectly willing to go to Italy and give it a go if :D anyone plans a trip there

That's a Honda Hawk you're hearing judging by the owner's screen name.
I was just testing yah. Thats my claim and I'm stickin to it :eh-smiley:

My wife and I have been planning a trip to Italy. I have to say we have very different opinions on this video -makes me want to take the bike, makes her want to take one of those buses. If I were a bettin man I would put my money on her.

Didn't Steph have one almost exactly like that?
Yes, he did. Mr. Teerex himself rode his FJR through those roads. I can't find the post...it might be under FJR specific, but he did post the video of the trip. IIRC, he explained that although the roads are narrow, the local cages and buses are used to motorcycles and will give them room to pass, etc.

I guess I'll have to put that trip on my "Someday" list.

You can combine.

Those orange busses are actually local turist busses. So You can ride the bike and she can have bus trip to passes and enjoy scenery.

Just don't plan visit to those parts of the world in august, its full.

June, July, September are OK, end April and May is a bit pushy (can be snowy) if You came from far away, but I enjoy most and April visit till now.

My club the MTCE (Motorcycle Touring Club Europe) already has plans in motion for our second run in the Dolomites for the end of the 2007 season.

I'm planning to be on that one on an FJR.

link is in my sig if anyone wants to come along.

Doc,

That sounds schweet! Right now, it looks like I'll be taking the 04 over with me to Slovakia. Gonna have to set the vacation time up right!

Hey folks,

I guess my Alpine Tour video got lost in the hacker attack :angry2:

The best time for a road trip covering the Italian/Swiss/Austrian Alps mountain passes is from May onwards, unless you want to deal with snow underfoot.

I'd be more than happy to provide information and arrange a few things locally (you're gonna have to let me ride with you, though B) )

If you can it would be great. Maybe show all the goldie, ventures, and Beemers how a bike should go round a corner. But be warned these guys arn't afraid of burning fairing plastic into the tarmac.

Maybe you should pop into the MTCE forum if you have anything you want to know about riding in Europe. I've only been here 5 years.
