Well, gang I had my FJR just about how I wanted it and then totaled it (isn't that the way it usually goes). I was riding in southern New Mexico with a good friend from Indiana and a Javelina darted out in front of me. I T-Bone the little piece of crap (when I hit it, it did crap all over the front of the bike). Sad to say the FJR is totaled it tumbled as I did and it tore it up pretty good.

I ended up with a broken ankle, small laceration on my spleen and a ride in a helicopter back to Albuquerque. They released me from the hospital yesterday but have additional appointments to decide what if anything else they plan to do.

Right now sitting back on pain meds in a holding pattern. Bad part was I could only get a couple of things from the bike but most went to salvage yard. I was going to post a picture but system wouldn't let me so I changed my avitar.

Not good, but excited you are posting this yourself....Already a good thing from a bad situation.

.

Surely sucks, gonna have to google a dang "javelina", is that some kind of wild cat...oh well, I hit some short hair creature when I bought my brand new Corolla SR5 in 88 and drove it to California. I did not stop to find out, as it was pitch dark in the dessert.

.

Heal quickly; hopefully the insurance company will not add any more stress to your situation.

Sorry to hear about your accident. I came so close to hitting a javelina a while back. The only reason I didn't hit it is because she made a very quick 180 and headed back into the ditch. I didn't even see her make the turn, I already had in my mind that I was going to hit her and couldn't believe it when I didn't. Now I know how it probably would have turned out based on your experience. I was riding solo and all I could think of afterwards was that I would be laying injured in the middle of the road with a pissed off javelina and no way to defend myself!

Get well.

No...A Javelina is a small wild pig that kind of resembles a Razorback, just smaller and not nearly as agressive. They're not usually very big, but can be. Funny thing is my brother (Patch308) and I just went on a Javelina hunt in southern NM in March and never even saw one pig. Dcporter finds one at highway speeds. Guess I should have taken my FJR. Stupid pigs.

Sorry about your get off man. Glad you're ok. Not too far down the road from you, so yell if you need something.

Holy Crap! Any thing I can Do for you? Maybe BBQ the pig that took you out? I hate to hear you got hurt, I'm in Cali working for another week, but if you need anything let me know. I'm as close as a phone call. Rest easy and get riding soon. See you at the LOE?

Thanks gang,

Yeah that little guy weighed out at 60-70 lbs per the officer. He said it was a full grown adult. That was the first time I have seen one up close they are an ugly thing. Well hopefully I'm back in the saddle soon. Turbo glad to see you typing.
