With my son's graduation party coming up I decided it was time for the extreme backyard makeover. I did all the work myself with some help from my neighbors and the wife and kids. 5 1/2 weeks start to finish so I had to post up some photo's to brag a little!! The months of June and July will be devoted to Riding My BIKE!! :yahoo:

Looks great J, job well done.

Looks like a good place to tip a few beers after you show me around the Dragon......I need to plan a trip.

Nice launch pad J!

How many FJRs did that set you back?

Definitely needs some drunken hooters hanging over the edge for "neighborly effect".

Very excellent work. Glad you are back to ride-ready status.

That kicks ass! Well done, I'm thinking BBQ at Jims...

Now where's the building permit? :D

Jason,

You were missing???

J/K

In all seriousness though, I can't tell in the pic, but your spacing on the 6x6 supports looks a little wide on the lower 3. Will it meet code?

also, a dumb little code thingy you may not be aware of is the need for 3 nails under EACH support stringer where it attaches to the banding board. 1 in the center and the 1 left and right of center (3 nails in that short of a span does nothing but split and weaken the 2x2 IMO). If you used the metal hanging brackets this does not apply.

If you have any ? just ask. I also know a deck builder/ remodler in ATL.

If I had to guess That's about an 05 FJR right there, an 07 with farkles if the white handrails are composite even with you doing the labor.

Permits, We don't need no stink'in permits!!

Fencer: Yes the supports meet the local building code. I used joist hangers on both ends of the joists so she's nice and strong!! Yes this would be an 07 with GPS and curb feelers!! Composite railing system wasn't cheap!!

We had about 80 people on her Sunday and it was solid as a rock!! BTW, the deck is 696 square feet!!

Oh yeah, It was awesome to hear the hot Mom's from the neighborhood standing around Sunday talking about how I have the biggest deck!! :D

Jason dude...................that's awsome!!! A huge nice new deck!

I rebuilt my little deck last year and it was a real pain in the ass

For some reason I'm now reminded of a Blue Collar Comedy sketch!

Congrats!
