This is what the forum should be about. Others helping others no matter how many times a question is asked. Sometimes it seems things are so easy to find but when you are a new member sometimes they need a little help. :clapping: Good for you '03HiYoSilver.

Ditto !!!!! everybody has to start somewhere.... and some people seem to forget how much they didn't know when they were getting started...

madmike2, It looked to me like his questions had been answered already. Besides, I haven't had my wheels off. I learned about the splines from your post. FJRTech doesn't mention them and I was wondering about it as well.

Ignoring the useless babble...

I just purchase a set of Shinko 009 Raven tires.
Stinkos are round and will run, but you may want to do some research before buying the next set. There are a lot of tires that do better on this bike.

And plan on doing all the work my self mount & balance.
Good for you. Watch the torques on the wheel bearings (see FAQ for specifics) to avoid damaging the bearings. Mike's suggestion about center-standing on the 2X4 was a good one.

Something else that is a bit controversial but I gotta say it's worked really well for my garage floor tire changes has been the Dyna Beads. I put a 2-ounce bag in the rear of my last bike and it was great. I bought a 4 ounce bag (https://www.innovativebalancing.com/gallery1.htm) for this FJR to pour 1/3 in the front and 2/3 in the back tire, which works out just slightly more than recommended. They run glass smooth and balancing is *****-proof. (BTW - I've balanced many many tires with weights and have no problem doing it. Say what you want but the beads worked.)

Some seem to think that even though members like Igancio have posted more than 5,500 times they aren't providing the level of service that the $0.00 that was paid is worth.

Maybe you should do your homework or maybe I'm reading this wrong. :dribble:

Igancio is the Admin and as far as I know, him and the few other Admins own this Forum. SO YES THEY can set the rules up anyway they want (which I have yet to think unreasonable) because answering the same questions over and over again waste their web site's resources that they PAY MONEY FOR!!!!!!!! So damn it, appreciate what we have and the work they have done to provide this website.
I can't speak for how you read it but I think I wasn't particularly clear. I must always remind myself that sarcasm does not convey well on the forum. What I was trying to infer was that for the grand total of nothing we all have access to a ton of information that we can find (using the search function or even google) on this forum. To complain that the answers provided by members, like Ignacio, who have posted thousands of time on this forum, are insufficient seems to me more than just a little bit ridiculous.

Strangely enough, I was on the Sleazy forum, with the original group of homos that have high post counts here, BEFORE I bought Frank. Nothing they said, or could have said would have changed my mind concerning owning a FJR. Very odd way to choose ones platform methinks............ ;) Also odd, the best people here are the ones who take chastisement with coolness and ease. Once adjusted here, they are a positive influence, and roll with the punches pretty easily. And give as well as they take. It's nice, though, to see a fella realize his limitations early on, rather than be the cause of untold hilarity for days/weeks before the toss occurs......... :p
