Interesting. Seems you have to have a brake applied on the AE in order to start the engine. Makes sense, ala automatic transmittions... and protect us from ourselves.

Also, the review reads like downshifting effectively requires some rpms to let the engine bite and brake. Otherwise I guess at below 1300 rpms, you're going to coast. Brake pads are evidently get more work out than on the A model.

Sounds like they should call the FJR1300AE "the Commuter".
